Description:
The Software Development Group is the core engineering group that is responsible for design, developing, improving StarCITE core architectural and product components. This is the key development group.
In this hands-on, technical position, the individual will be responsible for
1) Design/implement performance-critical, robust and business-oriented web services.
2) Working with architecture team to enhance service framework.
3) Work with product managers to gather and clarify requirements.
4) Provide development support for QA activities.
5) Work with internal support staff to troubleshoot issues.
6) Provide technical mentoring to team members.
7) Recommend and lead efforts for technical improvement and initiatives.
8) Work well under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and possess a high level of flexibility.


Requirements:
1) 5+ years of total experience in enterprise or consumer software development.
2) Experience in working with globally distributed teams
3) Excellent problem solving skill.
4) Good interpersonal skill and oral and written communication skills. Good at communicating technique issues.
5) A diverse background in advanced software and hardware systems with emphasis on:
a. J2EE based system or web application design and implementation
b. Good experience of using web service (WSDL, SOAP, XML, etc)
c. Good knowledge of online marketplace, exchange
d. Good knowledge of full-text search engine
e. Good knowledge of service oriented architecture
6) Have following preferred technical skills:
a. Object-oriented design
b. Development with open source framework (e.g. Tomcat, XFire, Axis, iBatis, Hibernate, Spring, etc.)
c. RBDMS design (specifically SQL Server)
d. N-tier architecture design and deployment
e. Quality assurance and control
f. Performance tuning
g. Unit test tools like JUnit, EasyMock, etc.
7) A passion for creating exceptional solutions.
8) Able to work with a high degree of independence and accountability.
9) A BSCS or BSEE is required. Masters degree preferred.
