The Senior Systems Administrator is going to join the team responsible for the administration and engineering of the Active's Enterprise Production Email system. The environment consists of Linux, VM's, various MTA systems (Message Systems, Exim), PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Apache, Tomcat and Cisco Switches/Firewall as well as other technologies below. The Email team oversees management, monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting of the Production Email environment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience, through extensive direct hands-on experience and training with Linux operating systems, Production Email Systems, Database Support (postgreSQL or SQL Server) and the OSI and/or TCP/IP Model including diagnosis and troubleshooting. A strong demonstrated commitment to quality and accuracy, is required and familiarity with/experience in an ITIL environment is a plus. Excellent written communication and customer service skills are required

Join a small team providing 24/7 support of an enterprise email production environment, reporting into a Team Lead
Provide Systems and Application Support for a proprietary SAAS email tool owned by Active Network
Provide Systems and Application Support for a host of commercial and open source email tools
Assist with the build out and support of Email Hardware, including possible data center visits
Possibly join an on call rotation, requiring overnight availability and a drivers license.

Eduation/Experience:
To be considered for this role, the candidate must meet the following requirements/qualifications (items are required unless noted otherwise):

5+ years of engineering and support experience utilizing Linux and Email Tools specifically
Build, installation and configuration of email infrastructure
Working knowledge and hands-on experience with troubleshooting network issues at a very low-level
Working knowledge and hands-on experience with security and hardening
Working knowledge and hands on experience working in Datacenters
Working knowledge of Database Administration

Desired Qualifications
B.S. Degree or equivalent in IT related field
Experience in a large, global, multisite enterprise operating environment supporting 10,000+ users a very strong plus
