General Job Description:
The purpose of the job is the application of latest manufacturing techniques, processes, tooling and machinery to Husky Shanghai manufacturing to maximize plant throughput and maintain on time deliveries to customers at the highest quality Level.
Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:
· Assessing, recommending and coordinating implementation of manufacturing process improvements
· Supporting day to day manufacturing
· Developing and sourcing new tooling and tooling concepts
· Evaluating and measuring cost effectiveness of new manufacturing processes
· Analyzing current manufacturing efficiencies
· Assessing and recommending new cutting technologies and tools
· Managing various manufacturing engineering projects
· Understanding the mechanics of metal removal during machining processes
· Understanding of jigs, fixtures and part clamping
· Measuring manufacturing capacity, capacity utilization and capacity additions to accommodate sales forecast
· Preparing budgets and capital requisitions for capital acquisitions
· Planning and scheduling capital equipment acquisitions
· Prepare budgets, capital requisitions and justifications for major capital equipment acquisitions
· Manage all aspects of major capital projects; acceptances, personnel training, commissioning and transition into production
· Update presentation to management on capital projects and global communication with other business units (North America and Europe)
Technical/Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Proficient with computers (MSOffice, CAD)
· Experience in high level project management
· Experience in implementing lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, Poka-yoke, SMED System
· Good English language skill (spoken and written)
Qualifications:
· University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or equivallent experience
· 5+ years general manufacturing and mechanical experience
· Experience in general machining, cutting tools and fixturing
· Project management experience (manufacturing related)
