Job Description:
- Lead technical development of high quality, cost leading elevator systems.
- Develop system requirements and the requirements allocation for subsystems with IPD Team.
- Develop system concepts and architecture and manage alternatives selection.
- Provide system calculations, integration and validation and support qualification tests.
- Meet the code requirements including development of Code Compliance Document.
- Deliver system design data in a flexible and reusable model product framework.
- Develop system level BOM and Basic Data specifying instructions.
- Lead development of Standard Equipment and Sales Support data.
- Develop and improve design standard work with UTC competitive excellence (ACE) tools.
- Create engineering deliverables as defined in Otis Product Development Process (PDP).
- Conduct product design quality and development technical reviews.
- Conduct product benchmarking and Market Feedback Analysis.
- Develop and apply modeling, analysis, simulation and computation (MASC) to ensure system design characteristics are favorable for premium performance.
- Evaluate and manage system risk using FMEA, FTA, DOE, etc.
- Track progress, resource utilization, earned value, and latest estimates for delivery.
- Provide system engineering support to contract engineering.
- Comply with UTC and company’s Ethics & Compliance Policies.
- Complete ACE Associate courses and get the license on time.
- Apply ACE Tools to daily work.

Qualification:
- Intent and interest to develop as leader and architect of a strong, competitive organization.
- 5~8 years experience in elevator system design.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential.
- Excellent ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with remote team members, including in American & European zones, is essential.
- Experience in leading product development, from concept to production, is required.
- Knowledge of elevator systems and mechanical and electrical subsystems is required.
- Experience in design for cost, manufacturing and installation is required.
- Experience in system calculation and FMEA, FTA, and DOE is required.
- Experience in modal analysis, noise and vibration measurement is valued.
- Understanding of layouts and building interfaces is required.
- CAD skills, especially Creo, are valued.
- Creative, open minded, critical thinker, hardworking and energetic with good teamwork ethic.
