Packaging Specialist, IKEA Distribution Centre, Shanghai Fengxian

 

About you 

1. Basic package knowledge, major in Package Engineering.
2. Good command of English.
3. Basic quality knowledge.
4. Basic knowledge of DC operations / logistics.
5. Self driven, systematic and well organized person.
6. Good communication and relating skills.
7. Service and quality oriented, willing to work on site in a warehouse environment.
8. Able to work with a variety of tasks under stress.

 

About the job

1. Secure proper quality of the packaging and unit loads.
2. Influence improvements in packaging and supply quality prevention.
3. Develop quality awareness in the warehouse operations and in the company.
4. Support the implementation and realization of the Neat & Clean basic actions in the warehouse.

 

About the assignment:

1. Be the interface with the warehouse operations for all packaging and unit load issues.
2. Provide trainings to warehouse staff on Neat & Clean and basic packaging knowledge.
3. Control the compliance of problematic packaging with technical documentation.
4. Control the correctness of unit loads delivered to and from the warehouse.
5. Communicate findings and improvement suggestions to the respective partners.
6. Monitor adequacy and implementation of corrective actions.
7. Initiate preventive and corrective actions by analyzing causes of damages and reporting it to the causing party.
8. Act as backup of Quality Specialist. For detail, please refer to Quality Specialist’s JD.
   

The only Low Flow DC in Asia Pacific located in Shanghai Seaport Development Zone of Fengxian District has started operation since Dec.1,2008. With a registered investment over US$270 million, DC Fengxian, covering an area about forty thousand square metres, upon completion, Fengxian DC will be the largest of its kind in Asia Pacific and one of the largest foreign-funded warehouses in China.

Meanwhile, IKEA's only product test laboratory outside Sweden is also established in this location.
