Job Summary: 

• Responsible for providing strong and precise technical solutions throughout the whole product development process
• Act as a bridge between Purchasing teammates, Quality Assurance Department and suppliers to provide technical support and better communication
• Initiate, execute and lead technical evaluations to prevent technical risks
• Provide trainings to Purchasing teammates and suppliers to help them acquire technical knowledge of products

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Regular factory visit of suppliers in Asia region to provide technical support service during the product development process
• Provide technical advice for new product development and continuous improvement of existing products
• Join Kick-off meetings with Purchasing teammates, Own Brand Management and Quality Assurance to understand technical requirements and provide technical advice to ensure all buyers’ requirements are met
• Join buying trips, onshore and offshore in Asia to provide technical support on related technical areas
• Identify technical discrepancies and provide strong and precise technical solutions to resolve the problems
• Communicate clearly the technical issues to relevant parties
• Carry out factory and product pre-evaluation to identify potential technical risks
• Provide technical trainings to merchandising teams and suppliers and coach them as needed
• Assist in claim negotiation
• Prepare and submit regular technical reports for manager review
• Manage technical procedures and guidelines
• Perform other tasks assigned by manager from time to time

  Knowledge and Skills:

  

• Solid technical background with sound business acumen

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with both internal and external business partners

• Excellent organizing, project management and time management skills

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure

• Ability to work under a multi-cultural environment

• Being a self-motivated and good team player        

• Excellent command of both written & spoken English and Chinese (includes Mandarin)
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

• Willing to travel frequently (Asia region / Turkey

  

Education, Professional Qualifications and Working Experience:

  

• Degree holder in Engineering, Research & Development or related disciplines

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience focusing on professional & complementary Outdoor furniture and BBQ products, specialized in Europe markets

• Experience in buying office and manufacturing company is preferred
