Job overview Qualcomm is the leading provider of smartphone chipsets and software technology in the world. Qualcomm software customer engineering team supports customers with understanding, integrating, testing and optimizing performance of software features for ASICs supporting basic BSP modules including multimedia. The Graphics team is looking for talented software engineers interested in overcoming Graphics technology challenges during mobile & embedded device development. This role will involve working at all layers of the Graphics software stack on Android Linux and interfacing with internal SW and HW developers. In addition, one of the major roles is to assist customers with software integration, development, system debugging, training, publishing application notes and etc. It is a very challenging position requiring the candidate to learn and internalize Qualcomm software and operation concepts very quickly, supporting customer on various modules in graphics perspectives. Qualcomm is seeking the best candidates available for this technical support position. Some travels for on-site customer support and for other Qualcomm offices aboard are required. Minimum Qualifications - Proficient in coding with C and C++, and experience in assembly or Java will be a plus. Good knowledge of computer architecture, operating system, data structures and basic algorithms. - Strong knowledge on Graphics architecture is required - Graphics Programming experience such as OpenGL ES/desktop Open GL/Direct3D is required - Strong verbal and written English communication and interpersonal skills - Willingness to travel to customer sites or other QMC offices abroad Preferred Qualifications - Work experience in Graphics driver development is highly preferred - Work experience in Linux or windows mobile device driver is preferred - Strong understanding and work experience in Android HWUI & SurfaceFlinger is a plus - Knowledge on GPGPU, OpenCL is a plus - Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering - Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
