Job title: Director, Supply Chain APAC

Reports to: Director Purchasing APAC

Working location: Shanghai, China

Job Purpose:

• The Director, Supply Chain APAC is responsible for all aspects of Supply Chain including: Planning, Execution, Logistics and Packaging. This position is focused on continuously improving supply chain performance to meet both cost and service objectives. This position is accountable to establish world-class demand planning, supply planning and inventory management performance capabilities within APAC region as a Supply Chain Planning COE.
• This role and the team will be SCM COE in APAC to have global alignment on process, strategy; leverage on GOB; identify the CI opportunity; improve the package, shipping line; coach plant level SCM team, etc...

Responsibilities:

• Establish and lead a regional Supply Chain Planning & Execution organization, including an APAC Demand & Supply Planning Center of Excellence (COE).
• Deploy enterprise supply chain planning process and enabling solution with responsibility to ensure successful implementation within the region, including providing support to Joint Ventures if they deploy JDA.
• In alignment with annual and periodic forecast update events, drive inventory and freight plans in line with business objectives and ensure performance meets or exceeds established targets.
• Work collaboratively with management to develop the long-term forecasting, demand planning, supply planning and inventory strategies that are in line with the business objectives.
• Partner with Operations to ensure compliance with Adient Operating System (AOS) standards.
• Enable the organization to reach higher levels of Adient Manufacturing System (AMS) maturity in objectives related to Material Control, and drive AMS Level 4/5 roadmaps
• Drive continuous improvement across Adient Supply Chain KPIs and institute “Best Business Practice” metrics.  This includes analyzing internal and external reports, application of external industry benchmarks, and continual reevaluation of existing processes all designed to elevate Adient’s performance and supply chain maturity.
• Responsible to aggregate monthly Supply Chain Operational performance data including; developing detailed explanation of variances, driving gap identification and closure plans, and reporting out on status of strategic initiatives within the region.
• Provide development, performance feedback and coaching to ensure engagement.
• Build a world-class team by attracting, developing and retaining diverse talent.
• Drive successful deployment of a standard global ERP system (Genesis 2,0) across all Product Group sites within the region
• Implement S&OP strategy within the region, ensuring cross-functional stakeholder alignment around S&OP deliverables, and continuously drive efforts to improve the quality of information to enable robust S&OP across Adient.
• Responsible to successfully launch new programs through better demand and supply planning and adherence to PLUS.
• Provide tactical support as required by the business to mitigate risk.
• Build / strengthen relationships with Chinese JV’s and identify specific opportunities to drive strategic initiatives in the areas of logistics, process / solutions.
• Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) / savings in all areas of Supply Chain including Logistics, Packaging and Trade Compliance to achieve established regional targets / commitments.
• Improve cost and performance of transportation activities within the APAC region.

Experience Requirements:

• 12+ years of experience in Supply Chain
• Automotive industry experience
• Experience in leading end-to-end supply chain process development, and operating “control tower” practices
• Proven experience in a matrix environment
• Demonstrated ability to work with efficiency across multiple project teams and business functions
• Proven ability to lead a cross-functional team
• Background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning, Demand Management and Logistics
• Experience in driving continuous improvement methodology (LEAN, Six Sigma, etc.) with a proven track record in delivering business improvement projects

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management or other related curriculum
• Advanced degree preferred, M.B.A. or equivalent
• APICS Certification or similar preferred

Skills Requirements:

• Proven ability to understand key demand and supply planning concepts and communicate with business stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communications skills including a proven ability to develop and present on all aspects of Supply Chain – Planning and Execution topics to senior leadership within the region
• Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to perform in a command-and-control role under pressure, and to manage multiple priorities with competing demands
• Strong analytical, data-processing and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in demand-planning process formulation and improvement
• Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multicultural business environment
• Complex problem solving abilities, and ability to align cross-functional stakeholders on resolving, or driving corrective actions
• Skilled in working across multiple cultures and languages
• Experience working in an environment with Joint Ventures
