Position Title: Product Manager
Location: China Headquarters based in Shanghai
The Product Manager and reports to the Senior Product Manager and belongs to the Purchasing department
This Department aims at building an attractive collection for each season in order to reach the Turnover and the Margin objectives.
MISSION & KEY ACTIVITIES




Mission
Under the responsibility of the Senior Product Manager, the mission of the Product Manager (PM) is to develop a strong department strategy in order to reach the Company's targets in terms of Turnover and Profit Margins.
To do so, the PM must:
- Control the Purchasing Budget and follow-up the Indicators,
- Build suitable collections for the family he/she is in charge of, in line with the brand image and that corresponds to the trends recommended by the Design team,
- Supervise the Production process,
- Manage & animate the Purchasing team.
Key Duties & Activities
1. Setting-up of the Department Strategy
Based on the budget allocation and the targets to reach (in terms of Turnover and Profit Margin), the Product Manager must develop a department strategy that implies:
o Build the Assortment Plan (number of Model Colors / subfamily / period), in close cooperation with the Product Analyst,
o Definition of the Market Share per Sub-Family,
o Definition of the Average Selling Price (ASP),
o Commitment, scheduling.
o Set Quantities to order in the given frame,
To do so, he/she must take all the following indicators into consideration:
o Company's strategy,
o Targets to achieve,
o Seasonality,
o Delivery Schedule...
This should issue guidelines for the construction of the Product Offer.
2. Development of the Product Offer
To reach the goals of the Company, the Product Manager builds the structure of the collection of the family that he/she is in charge of:
o Market Monitoring: follows and analyzes carefully the fashion trends (through fashion magazines & websites, fairs, shopping, competitors' offer, suppliers...) as well as the recommendations of the Design team.
o Knowledge about the Company customer: visits regularly shops of the brand and communicate with the Sales team in order to meet the customers and understand their tastes and expectations.
o Company's strategy: build a collection in line with the Brand Positioning.
Manage the overall production process in order to ensure that the products arrive on time in stores:
· Once the products of the collection are selected, you regularly check the Production progress.
Support the buying team and ensure the production is online with the strategy in terms of cost, quality and delivery time.
? Guarantee that the fitting and quality of the products (with the support of the Technical team) are adapted to Company.
? Ensure the schedule delivery is respected.
3. Control and follow the Budget all along the season
Closely supported by the Product Management Department, the Product Manager has the following responsibilities:
o Analysis, on a daily basis, of the Sales performance to detect the Bad/Best products according to various indicators: MC, price, style...
Based on the results, on the life-curve and delivery time of the products and on the remaining budget, you organize the buying plan (i.e. Repeat or Cancel Order, which quantity?) of the following weeks.
In case of any problem, or unexpected event, show reactivity and review or adjust your Department Strategy in order to ensure the targets completion.
Throughout the season, the PM is responsible for ensuring the targets achievement:
o Margin indicators,
o Purchasing Budget Control
o Control and make sure that the targeted level of stock is available in Warehouse,
o Follow the quality of stock,
o Follow the residual stock and propose actions for reducing it.
4. Animate the Purchasing team
o Lead and coach the Purchasing team so that it can reach high level of performances,
o Ensure the stability & growth of the team members,
o Set clear objectives by communicating regularly with your subordinates and ensure that all of them complete their tasks,


The Product Manager commits in respecting all new tasks and / or instructions requested by its line manager/director and to accept all missions that could be entrusted to him in the frame of its competencies and professional experience.

- At least five years of experience in Retail Company,
