Responsibilities:
Research, resolve, and record general product questions from customers.
Perform support primarily via the telephone, web, and e-mail within Actuate's stated service level objectives.
Answering all incoming support calls.
Record and maintain knowledge collected from each incident in accordance with the standard format.
Report and verify product defects and enhancements.
Interface with engineering through the RA process with the supervision of the team lead.
Participate in team meetings and attend customer conference calls as needed with team lead's supervision.
Assist in the attainment of department and company goals.
Work with team lead to request for additional resources, reassignment of a case, or handling hot issues or irate customers.
Other duties as required, some travel may be required.
Qualifications:
Technical qualification such as Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or at least one year of relevant work experience in a similar role demonstrating a proven ability to interface with customers (both on the phone and in person).
Fluent in Mandarin and business-level English, with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Candidates who are also proficient in Japanese will be considered favorably.
Strong technical skills, including the following:
Good understanding of systems/applications
Java programming skills and experience
Web based application (DHTML, Javascript, JSP, Servlets)
Good understanding of Web servers, proxy servers and firewalls, TCP/IP
Microsoft Windows, UNIX and LINUX (Operating System, Networking and Scripting)
General RDBMS knowledge and understanding, SQL
Ability to learn new technologies quickly, to work independently and strategically, and to utilize resources efficiently to solve cases systematically and effectively while ensuring the highest customer satisfaction and staying within the stated service level goals.
Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously while accomplishing desired results.
