Uplay is Ubisoft’s PC digital distribution and engagement platform, where you can find all your PC games along with news, friends, the Ubisoft Club and many other features. We are currently looking to strengthen the Uplay team with a System Administrator. You will be a part of a team that continuously strives to evolve and move forward and contribute make sure the backend server infrastructure can withstand the pressure and flexibility needs of a live online platform with a monthly multi-million unique user base.

You will work closely with programmers in the team and administrators within the Ubisoft group across the globe to help deliver a great online experience for Ubisoft PC players. This way you make sure, we maintain and develop our platform to serve the needs and wants of our users. Because, in the end, you make sure our players can play our games.

The Infrastructure team is committed to delivering a resilient platform that is available and reliable. Currently we’re working on moving into the Cloud with the vision to provide a self-serve platform to enable our developers to work more efficiently with servers and databases. You need to have an interest in staying up-to-date with technology and be very much involved in the day-to-day of running a live platform, and alway look for ways to improve it.

Our current environment consists of both virtual and physical machines running both Linux and Windows that are hosted in internal datacenters and AWS.

We provide a mix of MSSQL, MySQL and NoSQL databases, both on virtual and physical machines.

Job Description

Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Team

· Develop, build and manage server and cloud-based infrastructure

· Working closely with software developers on deployment pipelines, monitoring and services

· Be involved in the platform's software and data architecture to ensure maximum scalability

· Monitoring the health of the system

· Uphold the security posture on Infrastructure-related topics

· Maintenance of servers and databases

· Managing server installation using Configuration management tools

· Working with Cloud infrastructure providers and tools (Ansible, Terraform and similar)

Qualifications

· Very good English communication skills

· Operating systems (Windows, Linux)

· Hosting providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)

· Database systems (MSSQL, MySQL, NoSQL)

· Deployment scripting systems / Configuration management tools (Jenkins, Chef)

· Network solutions and technology (DNS, DHCP, Firewall, Load Balancer, VPN, L2/L3 Routing)

· Scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Ruby)

· Alert and Monitoring systems (Zabbix, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Grafana)

· Version Control (Git)
