Engineering Manager (Clients and Devices)

Responsible for Apps and SDK development to provide high quality video experience on various mobile and living room devices. This is a leadership and hands-on role that requires managing and leading a small team of experienced software engineers and being actively involved in architecting, provisioning, securing SDKs and Apps for various platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages and lead the efforts of other software specialists, providing tasks, technical direction and prioritization of efforts to achieve desired goals on Apps development.

• Take care of cross functional engagement for smooth execution and delivery.

• Establish SDK and App development plans and software.

• Architect, modularize SDK software to support multiple OS platforms.

• Delivery of PXLW technology SDKs for multiple OS platforms to various customers.

• Develop and maintain configuration management system & documentation.

• Establish DevOps culture and processes to achieve better predictability on results.

• Take hands-on approach to solve technical problems.

Competencies

• Self-motivated, with strong sense of end-to-end ownership for App development.

• Capable to prioritize and lead multiple, time-sensitive projects.

• Leadership by example and good interpersonal skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in English language is must.

Requirements - Education and Experience

• B.S/M.S. in Computer Science or related Engineering field

• 10+ years of Software experience, minimum 3 years in lead/management role

• Track record of shipping quality software

• Experience building multimedia playback technologies

• Familiarity with video decoding and display subsystem on Mobile devices.

• Previous experience developing and supporting video apps for Android and/or iOS platforms

• Domain knowledge in one or more of relevant technical areas: Android/iOS application development, Video playback, Video streaming, network protocols, HDR video

• Experience using configuration management, bug tracking and collaborative tool (git)

• Experience in modern programming languages like C, C++, Java
