Scope: The Analytical Chemist (QC) is to support 3rd party sourcing business and in-house formulation development projects, including qualification of new suppliers, routine QC testing, method development and validation.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Provide strong analytical support to the business, including:

? Deliver testing results within cost and time targets.

? Work with team leader to conduct QC testing and ensure all of the purchased products meet preset quality requirements.

? Coordinate OOS investigation in case of any quality deficiency.

? Planning and implement periodic cross-check under QA model.

? Characterize analytical standards as per the specific procedures.

? Conduct plant audit, if needed.

2. Support formulation development projects, including:

? Develop suitable methods to fix the purpose of projects.

? Deliver testing results within cost and time targets.

? Provide input from analytical and quality control perspective.

3. Maintain the lab equipments such as GC, HPLC, titrator, balances, ovens, etc.

4. Provide analytical support to other FMC sites/areas as requested.

5. Ensure that the knowledge and intellectual property, which belongs to FMC, is adequately protected.

6. Ensure that FMC standards of safety, health, environment and Responsible Care are implemented and sustained in all activities.

Requirements:

1. BS holder with minimum 2 years experience in analytical chemistry in agrochemical/pharmaceuticals/fine chemicals industry or government laboratory.

2. Possesses good knowledge and hands-on experience of spectroscopy and chromatography, and be able to interpret results of HPLC, GC, MS, NMR etc.

3. Be familiar with analytical method development and validation.

4. Be familiar with laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration & qualification.

5. Good communication skills and is a quick learner.

6. Strong self-motivated and work under stress with limited supervision.

7. Good PC skills and written English.

8. Ability to travel on a needed base.
