1. General Job information
Job title : Technical Market Manager, Batteries, Specialty Carbon Black, Asia Pacific Region
Location: Shanghai
2. Position in the organization
Reports to: Regional Marketing Director, Business Line Specialty Carbon Black, Asia-Pacific Region
3. The purpose of the position
Responsible for technical marketing in APAC to ensure business development of battery related products mainly LAB and LIB. Directly communicate with customers in the region to understand technical requirement, promote products technically and contribute to improve existing products and develop new product. Actively work with Regional and global Marketing and coordinate with Product Development, Safety & Health, Quality & Complaint Management as well as Regional Sales in line with global strategy in order to achieve above tasks.
4. Core Tasks
1) Responsible to develop new business of Batteries industry both LAB and LIB in APAC region. Directly communicate with customers to understand the technical requirement, and promote existing products.
2) Internally share the customer’s technical requirement with Product Development and Innovation if required, and contribute to improve the product as well as develop new product.
3) Closely communicating with the regional and global marketing, implement marketing strategy in battery industry, achieve the regional target of battery.
4) Make analysis of the market demand, customers, and technical trend by application and country, and define the target customers and action
5) Closely communicate with sales managers in each country, and develop customer visit plan according to target list with priority.
6) Responsible coordination for technical project at regional accounts with cross countries activities directly communicating with customers
7) Prepare literature, promotional material, websites and other communication tools for direct promotion as well as support local sales people
8) Provide technical training to sales people as well as distributors
9) Collect regulatory information related to Batteries, and timely report to marketing. Initiate corresponding action to the new regulations.
10) Maintain required information for CRM with timely update
11) Active lead in complaint handling
12) Provide monthly market updates including market/ customer demand /competitor/Industrial trend etc.
13) Responsible for regional product launch processes (i.e. identification of target customers, pricing strategy, promotional activities, coordination of involved departments)
5. Qualifications
1) More than 5 years’ experience in technical marketing or technical support in Batteries industry
2) Excellent regional technical and market related knowledge of Batteries. Experience in carbon blacks preferred.
3) Excellent skills in communication with customers including presentation and consultative skills
4) Fluent in written and spoken English is must. Native Chinese who speaks Japanese or native Japanese who speaks Chinese is ideal.
