PURPOSE OF JOB
To provide process engineering design and support for the development of Processes, Production, Projects, Safety and Environmental work.
To identify and evaluate existing, and propose new, systems to meet business needs.
To ensure that JM systems of documentation, training and communications are maintained.PRINCIPAL

ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Project Work
Assist in the development of scope; equipment, specification and purchase.
Support Project engineer/manager on projects.
Assist in the generation of Feasibility, justification, CAPEX and commissioning.
2. Production Support
Having a fundamental understanding of the physics and chemistry of catalyst production.
Documenting plant and procedures.
Understanding and improving the unit operations of the business.
3. Innovation
Maintaining awareness of industry innovations and regulations.
Maintaining awareness of JM practices and operations.
New process introduction and technology transfer.
4. EHS Responsibilities
Support the plant operation as required to ensure compliance with the permit conditions.
Undertake/Assist as appropriate in incident investigation to identify root causes.
Ensure all projects completed follow the correct HAZOP and EHS review procedures to ensure that there is no introduction of additional hazards.
To ensure the appropriate level of review is completed for introducing new products. This will include risk assessments, COSHH assessments and assessment of material MSDS to identify waste disposal routes.
PLANNING, ORGANISING AND CONTROLLING
Due to projects and new technology introductions having defined milestones, along with interaction with other departments, this position requires strengths in planning, organising and scheduling of workload.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS
Part of the Regional Engineering Services team
Liaison with the Regional Project Groups to ensure efficient implementation of Projects.
Supporting Production Engineers in Plant Troubleshooting as necessary.
Coaching of production personnel with regards to process optimisation and general working practices.
Communication and interaction with other functionaries such as production, Logistics, Quality, Maintenance and EH&S is vital for the success of project and technology introductions.
Liaise with Technology groups and overseas sites

Ability to understand complex systems that may include control, mechanical and chemical interactions
Education and training of Production personnel as required by new products and projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Chemical Engineering/Production Engineering degree or equivalent
High level of computer literacy
Analytical problem solving skills.
Sound understanding of basic engineering concepts
Understanding of chemical processes
Problem solving mindset
Excellent verbal and written skills
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
Will recommend technology, approaches or decisions to customers.
The workload would be issued by others, but a degree of autonym exists in identifying and justifying relevant effort.
Approval of payments, designs, specifications, contractors and vendors.
