Key accountabilities and measures:
? Factory sign off for Quality Management Systems and Product Safety Systems.
? New Supplier Induction and system training for suppliers.
? Screening of Tech packs prior to sampling.
? Sample screening – all sample types on risk basis.
? Rack samples approval management with support of Shanghai office
? Pre-production reviews prior Contract Seal submission (priority basis).
? First off the line product reviews (selective basis).
? Upgrading of Suppliers Performance – monitor progress on improvements & data base
maintenance.
? Issue management.
? Provide local sourcing expertise in terms of accessory and componentry vendors.
? Support Non-direct business in due diligence basis.
? Conduct assignments at the discretion of the Senior Technical Manager.
Key skills:
? Technical qualification in fashion accessory & jewellery as well as garment technology, preferably to a degree level
? 5 years of working experience in a related field for the UK / European market
? Knowledge of pattern making & fitting
? Familiar with the UK Retail industry & or European garment buying processes
? Computer Skills – Familiar with MS Office and internet is required
? Ability to build strong relationships with buyers and technologists in the UK and suppliers in country
? Excellent communication skills in English are required, and Good level of both written & spoken Putonghua
considered advantageous
? Ideally an audit qualification (ISO 9000 / SA8000 / ISO 14000) would be preferred, although not mandatory
