Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary roles and responsibilities of this SQE position are as follows:
Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule
Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTD (Past due), DPPM and waste
Establish specific short / long term supplier quality goals
Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances
Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
Develop long‐term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas
Aide Manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following a defined new product development process
Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting DuraTech requirements. Projects may include: process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6‐Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events
Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base
Responsible for the PPEP Process (Product Part Evaluation Process)
Conduct quality system evaluations of new and existing suppliers (supplier process audit).
Develop key suppliers on Life Safety expectations, systems and performance objectives
Respond and drive rapid solution to project quality issues
Develop a robust supplier quality system including incoming inspection, supplier scorecards, supplier corrective actions, and supplier audits.
Work closely with suppliers on TTM (time to market) process.
Analyze part/supplier defect trends in order to initiate appropriate corrective actions.
Product audits and first article inspections.
Develop and support use of sound system/process improvement tools. (PFMEA, DFMEA 8D, PDCA, CIP, PPAP, etc.)
Assist Logistics with supplier packaging and receiving issues.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electronic)from an accredited college/university, with at minimum 5-7 years related experience.

Experience and Skills Required:
5+ years project/program management experience in Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Quality
Certified Lean/Six Sigma Background a plus.
Excellent team facilitation/leadership skills.
Communicate engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier technical teams
Actively manage suppliers to ensure there are no regressions with the implementation of new processes
Aide in the new, probationary and rejected supplier transition processes
Travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills.
Experience with modeling software a plus
Strong Proficiency with key PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Self motivated, able to work independently and manage timelines effectively
Strong presentation skills.
Experience with BI software a plus.
