Surveyor for Ship- in-Service in Hong Kong
Principal tasks
- Carry out surveys of the vessel in service as required by Rules and International conventions at shipyard, port or anchorage for Class surveys, statutory surveys, and relevant repairs;
- Carry out surveys of the new buildings at shipyard;
- Carry out inspection and testing of materials and components of the marine equipment according to Class Rules, International conventions and contractual requirements.;
- Prepare technically accurate and timely Survey reports;
- Coordinating with RINA Head Office for type and components approval.
Education and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering;
- Previous professional experiences in Classification Societies(IACS) with full qualification of ship in service Working Experience;
-At least 10 years’ significant professional experience in shipyards or other classification organizations
Personal skills and abilities
- Willing to travel frequently;
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of hull, machinery, materials, equipment and safety systems of ships;
- Fluent in English language, both written and spoken;
- IT literate in MS Office;
- Ability to work in a team and on tight schedules;
- Ability to manage conflicts and to negotiate.
