Position Summary:
NYU Shanghai is looking for a few graders to support the Computer Science courses such as “Introduction to Programming” and “Introduction to Computer Science”. The grader will work closely with the course instructor and help with class administration, classroom activities, quiz/exam grading and learning assistance of the students. The ideal applicant will be someone who has a strong academic background in Computer Science or a related field and is fluent in English. An approachable personality, cultural sensitivity, and readiness to help are highly desirable qualities. The grader will gain first-hand experience working in an international higher education institution, and get access to the research and learning resources of NYU Shanghai.
 
Main responsibilities:
Grade quizzes, homework and exams
Proactively manage learning material and online teaching platform
Hold weekly office hours and answer basic questions from students
Other ad hoc tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or any related field preferred.
Excellent command of English and Chinese.
Have competence in more than one programming language.
Experience of working as a teaching assistant preferred.
Reliable, proactive, optimistic and self-motivated.
Time requirement: 20 hours per week, throughout the Spring semester (starting in January 2018)
