POSITION SUMMARY

HUSCO (International) provides individuals the opportunity to pursue a career within a fast-paced, industry leading and entrepreneurial organization. Key responsibilities selection and surveillance reporting of vendors including all audit responsibilities. Ensure compliance of supply agreements and maintain approved supplier database. Manage global transitions and logistics. Manage engineering projects for Purchasing and the APP process. Working closely with cross-functional internal teams and suppliers, a successful Supplier Development Engineer is a high-quality communicator; detail oriented, has a strong technical background, and effectively drives project execution.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

? Strategic Supply Base Alignment. Understand supply base needs and communicate those needs to existing supply base to meet those needs. Close gaps with the existing supply base or identify alternatives/additions that will close the gap. The strategic needs include: commercial competitiveness, capacity, quality, and ability to meet delivery/timeline expectations.
? Maintain Critical Supply Relationships. Maintain excellent relationships at the highest levels within HUSCO and at critical suppliers within the operating geographic region. Establish and maintain regular communications with these critical internal and external stakeholders.
? Meet Commercial Expectations. Drive overall cost competitiveness throughout the supply base through optimization, negotiation, identification of efficiency opportunities, design/manufacturing opportunities, and identification of new suppliers. Perform high level to detailed capacity planning with suppliers. Resolve issues with suppliers who are having difficulty meeting HUSCO needs. Ability to identify appropriate suppliers for any component and to provide realistic estimates.
? Manage Technical Issues. Understand the technical and manufacturing issues associated with key commodities (Foundry, square machining, turned parts, spools, die casting, electronical parts, rubber, plastic, fastener, forge, stamping, plating, heat treatment etc.). Work with suppliers and Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing to resolve issues (fixturing, datum structure, process flow, process control, cleanliness, tooling, etc.).
? New Product Development. Ensure that new projects/programs are launched successfully, meeting cost, tooling, quality, and timeline expectations. Coordinate global HUSCO and supply base resources, as needed, to launch products successfully and in a manner that is sustainable over the long-term. Where the supply base is not currently capable of meeting the development expectations, either expand the capabilities of the existing supply base or expand the supply base. Provide regular feedback to HUSCO people and the supply base regarding development status and challenges.
? Strong Team Player and Contributor. Able to work well with colleagues and produce results within a fast-paced and high pressure atmosphere. Combines strong attention to detail with an orientation towards results/execution.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

? Associates’ Degree in Manufacturing/Engineering or above required.
? A minimum of five (5) years of experience in in supply chain management in a manufacturing environment and supporting achievements.
? Demonstrated process and part cost reduction through innovative best practice approaches.
? High level of analytical skill combined with excellent computer skills.
? Effective trouble shooting, problem solving and organizational skills. Able to handle frequent interruptions, meet tight deadlines, and handle conflict in an effective manner.
? Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility.
? International and domestic travel up to 45%.
? Good English skill both written and oral.
