Job Purpose
To manage and lead cost- effectively the operation of the apparel Quality Control functions in China to ensure delivered on-time merchandise matching customer quality requirements

Job Description / Responsibilities
1/ To set direction & criteria for developing quality control functions in China as well as the daily operation of the inspection centre.
2/ Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to product quality whilst giving professional advice in all areas of quality control.
3/ Supervise the team engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
4/ To follow and implement HOI global quality processes whilst being part of the wider global team, collaborating and exchanging ideas for best practice and problem solving
5/ Responsible for championing the HOI anti-corruption guidelines across the business and that all potential risk areas are minimised
6/ Adjust QC structures to meet changing business/turnover shifts and customer developments.
7/ Devise and maintain quality control systems to minimize rejection and claim rates as well as consistent achievement of quality standards whilst adhering to delivery KPIs.
8/ To advise merchandising and QA teams on changes on customer quality standards.
9/ To collaborate closely with merchandising and QA management to ensure operational excellence.
10/ Communicate effectively at senior level with customers’ quality managers on implementation of QC strategies in China and resolution of QC issues for the customer.
11/ To manage multi-locational QC teams throughout China including the Qingdao inspection centre. Set up the appropriate QC functions for ongoing production shifts into inland China. Move infrastructure in accordance with business and merchandising developments.
12/ Plan team development and continue career and succession planning in the apparel QC teams.
13/ Constantly look at ways to improve all aspects of the business

Qualifications, experience and skills
1/ University degree in textile engineering, garment TQM or related disciplines
2/ Minimum ten years of experience in similar position in an international sourcing organisation with at least five years in a senior managerial position.
3/ Knowledge of garment development and production, plus thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and testing requirements.
4/ Experience in factory production is an advantage
5/ High level of integrity
6/ Team player with proven track record of people management skills
7/ Strong presentation skills
8/ Effective communication skills in English (written and spoken) and Mandarin Chinese
