职位描述：
Objective:
? The Tooling Development engineer serves as the key technical resource for procuring plate, fin, header and side stamping dies for various automotive, commercial and off-highway applications such as radiators, charge air coolers, oil coolers. The candidates primary focus will be on development, qualification of new tooling and suppliers for global and regional customers.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
? Work with global and regional product, and procurements teams to outsource tooling from China
? Lead the development of technical specifications for new tooling procurement
? Review and approval tooling strip layout and tooling design layout from tooling suppliers
? Manage supplier timeline for tooling development, pre-acceptance and final acceptance
? Manage tooling drawings in standard folder format and have system for maintaining drawing changes
? Develop tooling setup parameters for new tooling- Decoiler, feeder, straightener, lubrication system, stamping press and output conveyor.
? Develop Engineering Technical Standard (ETS) for each die
? Meet or exceed KPI and OEE for all new tooling – Unplanned downtime, FPY and Scrap
? Responding to new tooling faults, diagnosing breakdown problems, dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
? Order and plan raw material coils for new tooling development and trials
? Evaluate cost breakdown from suppliers for accuracy and make recommendations for optimal designs
? As required, will write purchase requisitions for materials explaining the specific needs need to outside vendors, the tool room, or other sources to assure the build/repair of required tools, fixtures, equipment.
? Constantly seek to improve processes by improving current state business processes and setup future state business processes to streamline tooling development and generate cost savings
? Stay current with latest innovations in stamping technology and develop process procedures as needed
Position Requirements:
? Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Tooling Engineering or similar field of study.
? Tooling expertise / knowledge and tooling maintenance experience (minimum 5 years of experience with progressive and transfer dies)
? Experience with aluminum components stamping, problem solving capability on stamping process and trouble shooting for dies
? Desirable to have experience with oil cooler plate tooling, radiator headers and side tooling.
? Desirable to previous management, leadership experience and people management skills
? Automotive industry experience desired
? Strong analytical skills including knowledge of computer based software – MS Office package, MS Project, Auto CAD, Solid Edge, ProE, Visio etc.
? Demonstration of good oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese
? Good team player, participate in multi-regional meetings in the morning or evening
? Availability to travel 10-30% of the time to suppliers and Modine plants
