Position Summary:
NYU Shanghai is seeking a student intern to help Student Life office on reception desk operation, office administration and student programming. The Office student intern will work closely with different student life function units in order to provide frontline services for visitors to student life office by receiving and responding to questions, providing direction, and explain student life office or NYU Shanghai policies/services/procedures/standards. The intern will also be required to support major student life program or events as needed.

The main responsibilities include:
● Serves as the student life office receptionist, receiving and responding to students, parents, faculty, administrators, and the general public; answers telephones, takes messages, refers callers to appropriate staff.
● Provides direction, process overview and information to students, potential students, parents, staff and the general public regarding policies\services\procedures\standards\requirements at different student life function units - residential life, student mobility, new student program, athletics, and student involvement; explains functions and use of available information.
● Exercise customer service skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with students and the NYU Shanghai community. Exercise multitask management skills to service multiple students at once.
● Provide a variety of general office support to different student life function units ranging from office supplies orders, collecting and distributing documents from/to students, scan or make copy of documents, printings, etc.
● Types/Translates a variety of material such as interoffice communications, forms, letters, reports, statistics, etc.
● Establishes, maintains, and updates a variety of records, logs, and filing systems pertaining to assigned area(s) of responsibility.
● Manage the reception area and other office areas(meeting room, storage room, pantry area etc) in a neat and inviting appearance for visitors.
● Support on major student life events, student life staff trainings, and function units' major student programming as needed.
● Assist with document translation and filing as assigned
● Maintain the mails and packages of student life team
● Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
● Bachelor or Master degree student
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Proficiency in English and Chinese.
● Customer service experiences preferred
● Detail orientated.
● Good interpersonal and communication skills to work in an international and cross- cultural environment.
● At least work two days a week.
