Firmware Lead/Senior Engineer
(Location: Shanghai)
This position offers an excellent opportunity to play a lead/senior role in a high-performance and expanding firmware design team. This position is ideally suited for a motivated individual who is energetic, takes initiative and has a broad understanding of firmware engineering. You will need to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as being able to fit in with a very dynamic, fast pace and global team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver automatic identification products & solutions meet market needs, applicable regulatory and industry standards
2. Provide technology leadership in terms of hands-on firmware design, design reviews and customer supports during new product developing, continue engineering and value engineering
3. Report pertinent information regularly on team or project status through clear spoken and written communications
4. Support to build up core competencies of firmware design team aligning with business needs, manage and coach junior engineers
Key Accountabilities
1. Develop new firmware per defined requirements by product management
2. Work with customers and project leaders to refine requirements
3. Understand & Maintain the existing firmware and perform changes based on the customer requirements
4. Identify and analyze firmware or product design problems
5. Support design reviews, both customer and internal as required
6. Participate in project planning and meet committed timelines
7. Produce design release packages for delivery to customers
8. Assist with system architecture and high-level hardware design
9. Assist with hardware bring-up
10. Work with testing team to develop and implement appropriate test processes, tools and procedures
11. As required, meet with customer to discuss project status and to resolve problems
12. Ensure all technical deliverables well documented and managed
13. Travel overseas upon requests
Specific Skills / Background Required:
1. Master or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related;
2. 5 years or above full lifecycle electronics/firmware product development experience with project management senses;
3. Solid knowledge of Microcontrollers & Processors (8/16/32-bit) and their software architectures ;
4. Proficient in firmware design & debug, expert with languages C or C++, and tools like IAR, etc;
5. Experienced in uCos II/III operating system and developments of drivers and applications;
6. Experience of EMV or ISO7816 compliances would be desired. Success delivery experiences of smart bankcard reader are a plus;
7. Excellent analytical and diagnosis skills with a common sense approach to problem solving;
8. Good command of spoken and written English is must, Korean or Japanese speaking is a plus;
9. Team player with demonstrated commitment to growth and continuous improvement;
10. Willingness to change and Can-Do attitude.
