Primary Purpose of Position
? Own the Costing / ME Team in assessment of factories and creating project based improvement action plans that include development of factory Industrial Engineers (IE) and management capabilities
? Define / Create training program for developing IE skills at factories
? Define / Create production performance monitoring tools at factories
? Define / Create manufacturing improvement SOP to drive efficiency
? Perform implementation of manufacturing improvements SOP at factories to drive efficiencies
? Identify opportunities for manufacturing efficiency improvements and align with suppliers
? Execute manufacturing improvements at factory to unlock value
? Define & create Should Be Cost Standards (all components) to enable in house capability to predictive costing

Essential Functions of the Job
? Work with factories to train them how to carry out improvements to achieve better product cost for WMGS while ensuring product quality and delivery on time and in full, are achieved
? Plan / Train factory ME teams in assessment of specific process areas using Manufacturing Excellence SOP
? Train factories ME Teams on solutions to improve internal efficiency using work study and method study techniques
? Monitor / Report production performance at factories
? Define / Create Manufacturing Excellence SOP for specific process areas
? Influence factories to drive cost improvements that can be reflected in future costings
? Execute manufacturing improvement projects in the factory processes and calculate potential savings
? Manage manufacturing improvement projects with Cross Functional Teams
? Train factories how to measure manufacturing improvements
? Monitor / Report manufacturing improvements sustained at factories
? Map out the Standard Minute Value (SMV) of all products by using General Sewing Data (GSD) for Should Be Cost Standards
? Plan / Lead training of sourcing teams on Should Be Costing Standards, and the possible ways of using the standards
? Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:
? Minimum 5 year experience working in apparel factories or consultancy for apparel factories
? Knowledge of different product types focused around outerwear
? Analytical and problem solving ability
? Knowledge of Quality Assurance processes, procedures and best practice
? Knowledge of factory production process
? Knowledge of analyzing work operations and identifying non-value add processes
? Knowledge of lean management tools and able to apply in a factory environment
? Able to map Standard Minute Value for an operation and a product
? High integrity and business ethics.
? Good communication and persuasive skills.
? Good spoken and written English (to develop)
? Team Player
? Able and willing to travel as required.
