Description
 

Evaluate, define and manage forecasted costs on the project team, monitor sourcing and tool kick off progress – assigned between DSI and VPI / Reports to either Senior Program Manager or Program Manager. Coaching, strategic planning, interfaces with all areas of the organization.

  

Ø Interface with Program Marketing to ensure strategic and contractual alignment with Purchasing.

Ø Represent Purchasing in Program execution team meetings. (the voice of Purchasing)

o Present Purchasing milestones/issues/resolutions in regards to sourcing, contracting and tool kick off

o Interface with Chief Engineers, Executive Directors, Program leads.

Ø Coordinate interaction between Engineer and Purchasing to prepare for Engineering milestone reviews.

o DDR Reviews

o DCS Reviews

o Allowable Cost Setting

o Nomination Readiness Reviews

Ø Support Program Team meeting requests, examples:

o PRTS/CPIT/CRDN meetings/closures

o VSE issues/assistance

Ø Coordinate total enterprise strategy to include logistics, containerization and other supply chain costs between GPSC and Program Team

Ø Execute the coordination of the rich launch mix studies

Ø Monitor and drive on time sourcing and tool kick offs

o Act as liaison between CPA organization and Program Team

o Contact and record buyer comments

o Ensure packages get reviewed by program team

o Arrange meetings with program team and buyer when necessary

Ø Assist investment requests for vendor tooling

o New tools

o Tool splits with other regions

o Tool refurbishments

Ø Communicate and coordinate program change requests and decision notices

Ø Manage sourcing cost data

o Track latest commodity cost on time (status to target, cost status vs. sourced price)

Ø Report out program financials to Purchasing Executive leadership

o Consolidate buyer’s potentials files

o Create box chart presentation with variance explanations

§ Ensure purchasing data robustness for cost reporting in cooperation with Program Finance

Ø Coordinate interaction with global areas

Ø Monitor and track parts not on contract

o Support EIT/PET/MLRT/CAB

o Support future material availability issues

Ø Support Supplier Launch Readiness Review

o Work closely with the Launch Leader to ensure purchasing support for any supplier quality issues

o Facilitate resolution for any purchasing issues with plant personnel

o Support PQRR

Ø Educate and support the Project Buyers to use tracking documents

 

Qualifications
 

Preferred Critical Skills:

Ø Microsoft office tools (excel critical)

Ø Knowledge of Purchasing software

Ø Communication / facilitation / discipline / financial background

Ø Familiarity with SMT commodity structure and component architecture

Ø Automotive industry experience

Ø Knowledge of procurement software

  Knowledge of materials management

 Capable of interpreting market data

 Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing process

 Ability to work globally, independently, and self-directed

  Ability to travel 5% of time, including international travel

  Manages without authority

 
 Education Qualifications:

 Bachelors Degree required or equivalent training

 Degree in Procurement, Accounting, Business. MBA preferred.
