Role overview:
This role offers an exciting opportunity in the field of hybrid and electric vehicle control development. In the C&E HES department, the intern will be involved in and gain knowledge of systems engineering including simulation, application software development including desktop testing, vehicle testing and vehicle calibration. With the current Chinese market strategy, focus is mainly on BEV’s, mild hybrids (P0) and PHEV’s (P0+P4, P2).
The role should encompass the following responsibilities:
? Support the C&E Hybrid/EV team, working on real engineering projects for real customers
? Working on systems engineering developing requirements for HES control projects and maintaining and tracing them in IBM DOORS or similar tool
? Working on application software development for HES control projects using MBD tools like Mathworks Simulink/Stateflow or ETAS Ascet
? Working on vehicle testing and calibration for HES control projects using application software models and calibration/test tools like ETAS INCA and Vector CANalyzer/CANape
? Get familiar with and follow the Ricardo process for HES controls development (V-Cycle, ASPICE, ISO26262)
? Work closely with customers and other Ricardo global divisions to deliver designs and meet project deliverables

The ideal candidate:
? Successful candidate will be a Chinese National or Foreigner (Non-Chinese) Student
? Should be studying for a mechanical or automotive engineering degree, the internship will form part of this study
? Have some understanding & high interest in the workings of new energy vehicles (NEV)
? Should have a proactive work ethic and be self-motivated
? Should be a good communicator and willing to work as part of a team
? Should be proficient in both written and oral English
? Chinese language is an advantage
? Comfortable working across a range of cultures

? Qualifications:
? Studying for BS or MS in Mechatronics/Automotive engineering or equivalent qualification
? Some experience with systems engineering and model based design software engineering (Mathworks Simulink and Stateflow)
? Microsoft experience, Powerpoint, excel, word
