The Challenge
? The Marketing Generalist will work closely with the assigned marketing manager and China distributors to implement China marketing management initiatives. The position will support development of marketing plans, expansion plans, budget management and project management. The successful candidate will use their partnership with team to further their own development of marketing communication and coordination skills.
The Position
In this role, the successful candidate will develop skills in marketing management, partner management and project management. Specifically, he/she will recommend, develop and execute marketing strategies, plans and programs, that build on consumer and customer insights, for a consumer brand in China; Responsible for initiatives, projects and day-to-day operations and tracking on all aspects of the brand and business.
Key responsibilities will include
? Customer (partners/distributors) communication and management, to help implement marketing plan, drive strategic activities that support China and Hong Kong business, as well as daily operation.
? Work with headquarter, cross-functional teams and agencies to ensure excellence in execution (initiative, planning, execution and summarizing results/learning).
? Track budgets, forecasts and consumer/customer KPI to manage daily business, and recommend suggestions for corrective actions if needed.
? Assisting in developing marketing strategies and plans (strategy/concept/packaging development, product/marketing qualification and forecasting)
? Market & consumer understanding: develop and share (thorough understanding of consumer/customer/market and detailed business analysis to manage daily operation, identify business drivers and opportunities); Research consumer needs, competitor and market trends to provide the base for intelligent marketing plans, and pipeline for continued growth.
? Assist with Advertising and Promotion development (brief development, evaluation, directly and indirectly with agency, distributors, and Global Brand teams).
The Ideal
? A minimum of 3 years' of CPG/pharma/VMS marketing or project coordination/management experience (B to C). Previous work with a multi-national CPG business is strongly desired.
? Experience managing cross functional teams with proven ability to lead, own and drive results
? Experienced in collaborating with advertising agencies in creatively developing integrated campaigns.
? Ability to adapt quickly to a challenging environment in the consumer dynamics and in the competitive landscape.
? Potential to lead and take the initiative to address customer/consumer/market trends, assess business situations and market situations to identify and prioritize brand-building opportunities based on the market and consumer information.
? Broad knowledge and practice of brand management/marketing, products, packaging and competitive analysis in the CPG/pharma/VMS industry
? Must have very strong communication, organizational, and management skills. Attention to detail is critical.
? Ability to work under-pressure, problem-solver.
? Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting and data analysis.
? Ability to utilize key Outlook software (Excel, Powerpoint, etc), as well as ability prepare and deliver presentations.
? Fluency (both verbal and written) in English is a must
? Willing to travel approximately up to 20% of the time
