General Purpose of Position:
Responsible for developing audit plans and executing and documenting work in accordance with GMAS standards of conduct; maintaining technical competency and effective working relationships; understanding the business; providing evaluations of the effectiveness of the auditable activity’s internal controls and operating environment; providing practical recommendations to achieve a balanced control environment; and ensuring completion of assigned audits on time and within budgeted hours. Manages teams to produce high-quality results effectively, efficiently and timely. Communicates audit results clearly and timely to all constituencies.
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Conduct planning meetings with auditee prior to fieldwork; prepare introduction letter and opening presentation; determine audit scope with GMAS team and prepare audit plan documents.

§ Allocate work appropriately within audit team; guide team members to ensure that audit objectives are met, resources are utilized effectively, and sufficient coverage is achieved based on understanding of appropriate business aspects, risks, potential fraud, performance requirements and control processes and systems of auditable activities.

§ Perform or oversee process risk analysis, process maps/flowcharts, and development of effective and efficient compliance and substantive test plans.

§ Review work papers and provide follow-up notes where appropriate to ensure test procedures and observations/findings are adequately supported by correctly executed tests and documented in accordance with GMAS & IIA standards.

§ Regularly communicate findings and project status to appropriate unit personnel and GMAS management; ensure all findings are in-facted with unit management promptly; ensure management action plans are received promptly and that they adequately address findings; prepare the closing meeting presentation.

§ Prepare clear, grammatically correct audit reports for review with management using GMAS approved templates.

§ Provide or assist in providing training, coaching and guidance to Internal Audit staff in conducting audits and other audit-related issues.

§ Address unusual and difficult problems; assist staff in difficult situations including resolving conflicts.

§ Solicit written auditee feedback per GMAS process.

§ Complete timely and constructive Post Audit Evaluations for team members.

Skills and Abilities:
§ Three years or more of managerial experience

§ Five or more years of professional experience as an auditor or other similar internal controls experience

§ General knowledge of US and local GAAP accounting standards, COSO Internal Control-Integrated Framework, and SOX

§ Strong interpersonal skills, especially communication and interaction with business units to ensure audit objectives and results are understood and supported objectives

§ Ability to learn on the fly and apply business curiosity

§ Effective project and time management skills

§ Strong analytical and problem solving abilities

§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

§ Excellent PC skills

§ Ability to lead a team of auditors

§ Ability to travel between 10% and 50%

Education and/or Training:
§ Required: College degree with a major in accounting, business administration.

§ Preferred: Graduate Degree.

§ Required: Agrees to pursue professional development opportunities and to obtain professional certification if not already certified.

§ Preferred: Professional certification (CIA, CPA or other similar certification).

§ "Big 4" Accounting Firm audit experience a plus
