Job Capsule
Supports the Legal Department by performing legal research and analysis, and provides support on litigation, bankruptcy, contracts and other legal matters with little or no supervision.

Job Duties/Roles
1. Directly handles routine and semi-routine matters on behalf of Legal Department.
2. Provides administrative support to the Legal Department staff members.
3. Provides assistance in preparing for Board Meetings and Council Meetings.
4. Maintains Corporate Minute books.
5. Performs legal research and drafts legal documents as requested by Legal Department staff. Assists Legal Department staff with contract review as requested. Assists in all matters related to litigation management.
6. Handles requests related to work visas, work permits, powers of attorney, and consularizations/apostilles.
7. Maintains trademark registrations and copyright licenses.
8. Primarily responsible for updating and maintaining Legal Department document retention and tracking of same.
9. Assists with preparation of presentation materials for both Legal and Export Compliance.
10. Attends internal company training programs.
11. Handles processing of vendor invoices, enforces billing protocols and develops related procedures for the Legal Department.
12. Keeps abreast of relevant and potentially useful PC business applications and attends training courses as needed.
13. Develops sound knowledge of company operations necessary to identify, meet and anticipate the needs of the department’s clients.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR)
1. Substantial experience as a paralegal or a combination of education and experience. Previous experience working with contracts is preferred.
2. Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of office automation software, which may include spreadsheet or database applications, word processing, and presentation applications. Ability to learn additional programs as required.
3. Knowledge of legal terminology.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
5. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels of employees and outside clients in a professional and business-like manner.
6. Uses initiative and discretion in accomplishing routine assignments with minimum supervision.
7. Ability to handle routine and non-routine business matters in the absence of a supervisor.
8. Ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines.
9. Must be a self starter and have strong organizational skills.
10. Physically able to handle department files and storage boxes.
11. High level of attention to detail and accuracy
12. Should become familiar with the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System. 举报 分享

ABS Consulting - Shanghai, (legally registered as Shanghai ABS Technical Inspection Co. Ltd. in Shanghai, China, a Joint Venture between ABSG Consulting Inc. and Shanghai Inspection Company), is one of the branches of ABS Consulting (ABSG Consulting, Inc., a legal entity in New York, and the operation in Houston, the State of Texas), an affiliate of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
