Job Summary :

The successful applicant will be an accomplished scientist with breadth and depth in the field of Genomics.
Having gained the trust of customers and colleagues by demonstrating technical and commercial acumen, you will assist our customers in the design and execution of experiments that utilize Roche Applied Science products, with an emphasis on sequencing and microarrays. In addition, as necessary, you will assist colleagues in the provision of workflow and bioinformatics technical support for these platforms.

 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities :

Technical customer training, support and service for the RAS Sequencing and Microarray Portfolio

• Establishes and retains customer loyalty by answering inquiries about experimental design, the scientific characteristics of our products, and by providing advice/troubleshooting on improving applications results
• Train customers hands-on regarding experimental procedure, sample handling and instrument operations.
• Builds relationships with prospective and existing customers by delivering service beyond expectations
• Synthesizes answers to inquiries based on research, literature and laboratory experimentation
• Constantly maintains and improves call handling quality by utilizing knowledge and refining communication skills

Troubleshooting, communications, and documentation

• Tracks, designs and documents technical solutions to maintain and increase technical knowledge of RAS products and applications.
• Complies with business requirements regarding the documentation of customers inquiries, complaints and solutions
• Provides feedback on customers and open cases to colleagues in global support team and APAC local sales organizations

Scientific and technical presentations to internal and external customers

• Attends trade shows and workshops, including the delivery of oral presentations
• Plans and schedules RAS-internal product trainings and education on current applications to customers.
• Conducts these product trainings in an informative and didactically professional manner.
  Positions Roche products appropriately in customer’s perceptions

Contributes in increasing sales revenue

• Understands customer's project goals and develops workflow solutions using Roche products to meet their needs
• Facilitates customers buying decisions through consultancy with profound application, technical and market knowledge.
• Develops application based sales arguments
• Supports the development of sales and marketing strategies, Identifies additional sales opportunities

Driving process improvements

• Takes ownership and drives improvement of technical support and training processes.
• Funnels market intelligence, quality improvement and process improvement to management
• Participates and contributes in projects relating to technical support, training, sales, and/or marketing.

 

Basic Requirements of the Job :

• PhD/MS degree in Life Sciences.
• 3 years laboratory experience in Genomics (5+ for MS candidates)
• 5 years experience in hands-on life science research projects
• Publication in peer-reviewed journals a plus
• Previous use of Roche Applied Science instruments and reagents a plus
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English
• Good command of MS office software suites
• Product & Application Expertise
