GENERAL SUMMARY

EMC Global Hardware Engineering (GHE) is looking for an Engineer to develop and support current and future storage products. GPS (Global Platform Software) is the team within GHE, which is responsible for delivering various Firmware solutions (BIOS, POST, Enclosure Management) for EMC hardware platforms.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Writes functional detailed design specs as well as responding to requirement documents and system level test plans.
? Significant contributor to organizational goals and objectives.
? Interacts cross functionally on matters that require coordination across organization lines.

? Collaborates well with other engineers and other engineering groups, voluntarily shares information.
? Member of a global team, working with team members in various geographies.
? Offers proposed design changes/suggestions to processes and products, exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of an assignment.
? Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives, without appreciable direction.
? May be accountable for overall product and/or serve as a customer advocate, may represent organization as principal customer contact.

Requirements and Skills:
? Strong programming skills in C/C++
? Working knowledge of IPMI vendors (Avocent, AMI ...) and code structure
? Ability to design, develop for specific IPMI firmware requirements
? Good knowledge of enclose management and protocol standards, industry experience strongly desired
? Excellent system-level debugging skills
? Linux development experience is a plus
? Other embedded development experience is a plus
? Project management skills
? Leadership
? Good communication, fluent verbal and written English skills
? Strong team player, ability to be working in a global team
? Be result driven and self-motivated
