Role Purpose:
To ensure alignment with corporate quality processes at the two BI/SFI/FS facilities and tollers and to provide quality support for the Greater China commercial.
Main Accountabilities:
? Quality:
o Support Greater China in implementation of corporate Quality and Food Safety programs, ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation, and effective site specific quality and food safety programs: coaching and internal auditing
o Responsibilities include providing technical resources to customers, responding to quality related customer requests and resolution of quality and technical related issues with customers.
o Provides and maintains product information such as customer specifications, nutritional data, MSDS, technical data, regulatory compliance, quality audits, religious certifications and export classifications.
o Assist Greater China commercial team with process troubleshooting for quality related issues and/or complaint resolution
o Provide Sales/Technical/PM/CS support to customers for complaints and quality related issues; by phone or face to face. Train Sales/PM/CS on quality programs to ensure they can knowledgeably address customer questions.
o Effectively interact with Production, Application Regulatory and Technical Service teams to help introduce new products
o Foster continuous improvement of local departmental SOPs via local QA/QC team.
o Lead the development and execution of local training programs that support the Company’s objectives with regard to quality and food safety via local QA/QC team.
o Assist in translation of documents to expedite Customer Advocacy support when needed.
o Work very close with the Customer Service team to prompt reply / respond to customers complaints.
o Assist on the trouble shooting of test methods with Corporate Quality- Analytic Group.
o Coordinate inquiries to regional regulatory authorities and consultants, and disseminate information locally and to corporate regulatory; initiate/coordinate changes as appropriate
o Provides technical information to customers concerning quality requests
o Completes customer questionnaires and surveys
o Coordinates customer audits
o Issues or approves continuing guarantees, quality agreements, special customer quality or shipping requirements.
o Issues or approves quality certifications for regulatory compliance, GMO status and potential product impurities
o Approves product returns, customer specifications and special requirements
o Negotiates specification differences with customers
o Determines disposition of returned product and rejected products on quality issues
o Approves process and product specification changes
o Handle and negotiate customer claims
o Works closely with sales and customer service related to customer/product issues
o Works with religious organizations in order to obtain religious certifications for THE COMPANY products
o Reports to and back up to Manager, Customer Advocacy
o Resource to the business and the sites when SAP related to quality issue
o And other duties as assigned.
Performance Measures:
Key metrics include;
? Safety standards to the QA/QC structure
? Successful customer, 3rd party quality and food safety and regulatory audits including documentation and timely implementation of corrective action.
? Satisfied internal customers in regards to complaint handling, Specification review and Customer Questionnaires
Knowledge, Experience, Education and Professional Qualifications:
? BS degree in related science field, or
? 10 years experiences in Food industry related to quality and regulatory focused job or product management.
? Knowledge of food safety norms (GFSI: BRC, FSC22000).
? Knowledge of physical/chemical and microbiological methodologies
? Demonstrated ability to research and find applicable legislation for food products
? Demonstrated management, customer complaint handling and audit experience.
? Demonstrated ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office basic tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Sharepoint
Judgment and Decisions:
This candidate must be able
? to successfully work with plant operational and quality staff and corporate support structure.
? to be able to negotiate and achieve practical and sustainable solutions to issues across all related plants and products,
? to demonstrate systemic view,
? to grasp products and processes made at THE COMPANY network manufacturing facilities, and
? to communicate effectively at all levels of understanding for training and educational purposes regarding quality and food safety as well as complaint resolution with internal staff and customers.
Key relationships:
This role serves customer advocacy, site quality staff, Greater BI/SFI/FS commercial teams, Technical team, supply chain, customer services and customers. This role interacts with all other areas of the business.
Leadership Behaviours:
? Extensive knowledge of Greater China region and its differences
? Strong drive and energy
? Organized. This person will face different requirements at the same time and need to be very good in organizing his schedule, define priorities and problem solving skills
? Strong influencing skills to ensure we get what we need
? Clear communication skills within region and with corporate support functions, i.e. managing up
? Mandarin and English skills required
? Experience, goes without saying
? Preferably located in Shanghai, China
? Strong project management and process oriented skills.
? Adaptable, Flexible
Travel required:
Approx. 25-50% between Singapore, Taiwan (if needed)
