Goals/Mission
- Has disciplinary responsibility for all employees in the assigned area. Is the mentor for all the team leads. Conducts day-to-day supervision, troubleshooting, revisions of standard operating procedures and coordinates kaizen events.
Dimensions
- Has over all responsibility for assigned area with team leaders reporting to him. Responsible for takt time compliance for entire building/segment. Report and track daily production results.

- Operational manager, team leaders in assigned ares and production tecnical and support functions
Tasks
- Team member and team leader development;Champion safety within assigned area
- Best practice sharing with global plant counterparts.
- Confirm product quality and Team lead checks and responsible that standardized work is followed. Responsible for Takt time compliance. Report and track daily production results.
- Coordinating function. Provide shift to shift coordination with other GL's. Coordinate major maintenance with maintenance staff. Coordinate support from support groups. Coordinate process trials. Coordinate work up- and down stream.
- Monthly production planning (manpower to meet takt). Team member and team leader intermittent and daily absences (in coorperation with/delegated to team leaders. Manpower and vacation scheduling.
- Initiate/suggest cost reduction activities (7 deadly wastes). Initiate/participate in Kaizen projects.
- Responsible for communication of cell process changes. Link between tecnical departments, Production Preparation and other service department and team leads.
- Maintain and enhance employee morale and motivation by acting as a mentor for team leads.
- Long term strategic planning in conjunction with Operations manager and local tecnical manager.
