Sr. Supplier Development Engineer
Job Description
Selected candidate will be responsible for the quality management of manufacturing system qualification and sustaining of manufacturing processes at Supplier, ensuring that Supplier delivers quality parts, materials, and services. Works closely with peers as a joint effort such as Procument, Operations, Quality, Development & Customer for a continuity of supply, qualification, change management, in-process controls towards maintaining high level of quality as well as continuous improvement of Supplier performance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
? Basically as an individual contributor routinely;
? Establish and maintain high level relationship with our Suppliers (SRM);
? Manage and develop Supplier technical performance;
? Assess Supplier technical capabilities in areas of process control, quality systems, traceability and continuous improvement;
? Accountability for parts quality including quality incident resolution and supply security, and securing supplier’s day to day process/product compliance with Interplex quality levels;
? Assist Supplier’s Engineering in the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to qualify production parts at Supplier, Quality Assurance on new project following APQP/PPAP activities;
? Support business strategy on cost reduction opportunities through process improvements, material changes and other optimizations and quality validation;
? Participate regular business review and lead quality reviews with Supplier, representing Quality Management in these reviews;
? Build collaborative relationships on multiple organizational levels, with managers, partners and peers from diverse backgrounds across functional lines in China region;
? Drives continuous improvement programs across all areas of quality responsibility;
? Shares best practices with partners and peer groups;
? Champions’ organizational values and objectives of quality;
? Others which could be assigned by candidate’s manager when/where needed.
Knowledge & Skills:
? Relationship development and management;
? Deep industry knowledge of manufacturing for quality management system and/or processes;
? Ability to read and interpretate design drawings & specification;
? Embody effective verbal, written, influencing and interpersonal communication skills;
? Ability to perform gap analysis with internal/external customers and supply base Knowledge of formalized project management processes and methodologies;
? Analytical skills necessary to assess information and apply judgment in decision making;
? Quickly learns and assimilates new business processes, ideas and concepts to formulate conclusions and deliver results. Adopting best practices and processes for continuous improvement;
? Works ethically and with integrity. Maintains credibility by meeting commitments;
? Actively pursues opportunities for learning and self development both individually and amongst peers;
? Excellent communication skills in both English and mandarian.
Qualifications:
? Minimum 7 years working experience related with Quality and/or Process engineering in Metallurgy manufacturing area & environment, such as Hot-rolled metal, Metal smelting plant & etc.;
? Knowledge of quality management system of ISO9001/IATF16949;
? Deep understanding in 8D, SPC & FMEA for manufacturing methodologies.
Education & Certificates:
? Bachelor Degree (or above) majoring in Metallurgy Engineering, OR Engineering of Metal Material & Heat Treatment;
? CQE/CQM is preferred;
? 6-Sigma GB/BB as a plus.

? Professional in Presentation & Communication skills in English MNC environment.

Travel Frequency & Place:
About 30-50% of work time, and mainly travel in China region.
