Design Research Internship – Company & Position Description

Internship Location: Shanghai JingAn
Time frame: 3-6 months, depending on availability & project length
Number of Employees: 10

Internship Duties:
? Assist PM to conduct regular search for design projects that help to effectively communicate the desired message while meeting customer’s standards.
? Collaborate with design team on concept, design, and execution of projects.
? Participate in design research project including but not limited to ethnographic research plan & guide, field work support, shadowing, video editing, in-depth interview & notes taking, procedure map visualization, user scenarios, need statements, communication protocol, concept ideation & refinement, and collaborative brainstorming.
? Maintain quality, brand and style guideline standards across all design efforts.
? Occasional domestic biz travel is required.
? Other adhoc tasks required by Project Manager.


Desired Skills & Experience:
? College undergradudate, overseas background would be preferred
? Major in Industrial design, graphic design or research
? Disciplined and self-motivated; excels with limited guidance in a constantly changing environment
? Applied design experience with demonstrated understanding of design principles.
? Demonstrated proficiency with design tools (photoshop, illustrator in particular).
? Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
? Deliver quality work within tight schedules is a must.
? Critical eye for attention to detail and pixel perfection.
? Excellent communication skills in written & oral English.
? Willing to learn new skills on the job.
? Willing to accept frequent domestic travel.
? Can be promoted to regular staff based on performance during internship.
