Job Overview
Shorelight Education is seeking to hire a Shanghai-based Enrollment Advisor to support prospective international students through the inquiry-to-application process for Shorelight hybrid learning opportunities.

This position works closely with regional Field Degree, Enrollment Services, and Shorelight’s partner campus teams to provide student-focused, optimal learning experiences and services that lead to student success. Measures of success for this role include the ability to drive direct applications, conversion from offer to deposits, conversion from deposit to enrollment, high rate of pre-payment, high rate of visa issuance, and submission of pre-arrival documentation. The position directly reports to the Director of Field Degree Market Development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve and exceed enrolment goals and all enrolment metrics;
  • Contribute to the growth of the business and to new student enrollments by assessing potential applicants and determine if they are qualified to apply and enroll in various academic programs;
  • Use a consultative sales approach to guide and support prospective students through the enrolment process;
  • Keep accurate records and follow organizational policy to maximize business opportunities;
  • Receive and follow-up on potential students via phone, email, face to face and direct mail student inquiries relating to obtaining advanced degrees;
  • Build rapport and provide guidance for students interested in obtaining a degree or certificate program based on prospective student desired goals or career interest;
  • Provide a positive and superior student experience;
  • Consistently seek opportunity to drive student growth by referrals;
  • Maintain a high level knowledge of current products, processes, policies and industry;
  • Demonstrate expertise in the various steps of the enrollment process;
  • Understand and communicate the value propositions of our brands (and those of our competitors) in order to be able to provide an excellent student experience by offering the right program and start date;
  • Ensure readiness and availability to make and receive correspondence and communication throughout the entire enrolment process;
  • Create consistent and observable documentation in a regulated environment and throughout the student cycle;
  • Demonstrate strong team relationships by working collaboratively with direct team and other departments;
  • Counsel students to deal with their concerns;
  • Actively participate in continuous training on group policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and special projects;
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations, or related area
    ? Previous experience working directly with higher education institutions is preferred
  • Beneficial to have existing network and relationships within the education industry, strong working knowledge of key international markets, programs and products, and U.S. higher education
  • Strong sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively
  • Strategic-minded and sales-driven, strong drive for results, pressure-resilient
  • Proficiency with technology and reporting programs/systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the work team
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Outstanding and proven expert in multisite customer or student support operations
  • Strong business partnering skills to fit into Shorelight’s culture, which emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, and best practices, and to build relationships and to establish the rigor to drive transparency and improve communication and decision making
  • Direct experience in global education or previous experience working in an internationally based role is preferred as the successful candidate must navigate different geographies and cultures to assist in managing and scaling the business
  • Collaborative team builder with a strong team orientation and the desire to develop, train, and mentor others
  • Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives and effectively engage with a wide variety of constituents at all levels
  • Eligible to work in and travel freely to and from China without sponsorship
