POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Dietary Supplement Unit Manager

Line of Business: Health Science

Reports To: Division Manager

Basic Purpose: Provide all services such as audit, testing, and certifications fell under dietary supplement program to customers for compliance with government regulations, client requirements and the benefits of the customer. Perform all duties required to develop, grow and administer all the dietary supplement programs.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Seek business opportunities through any initiatives and marketing activities such as trade show, media pitch, seminar organization, client visits and etc.

2. Provide timely and high quality management of dietary supplement projects including the audits, testing and other services following NSF procedure.

3. Manage effective communication and contact with key customers and all related NSF International service areas (including JV and NSF International).

4. Manage business by responding to inquiries, coordinating marketing and sales activities, attending conferences and writing articles for publication.

5. Assure that the business unit meets all corporate and program requirements for QA and QC turnaround times, production and annual budget.

6. Review records, reports, and other documentation, as needed, to accomplish the registration or certification for assigned customers.

7. Build relationship with related governmental units, industry and trade association representatives and plan/facilitate the cooperation with them to promote NSF business and brand.

8. Deliver presentations to trade organizations, technical seminars, industry regulators, and user organizations.

9. Develop business unit’s annual operating and fiscal plan. Responsible for the completion of business unit’s annual operating plan. Submit monthly/quarterly reports consistent with the authorized operating and fiscal plan.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, food safety, pharmaceutical or related field.

2. A minimum of five (10) year experience in the related food, healthcare industry.

3. A minimum of two (2) years supervisory/ leadership experience.

4. Knowledge of food industry, chemical industry and public health.

5. Proven business management, budget management and supervisory skills.

6. Ability to be innovative in addressing strategic opportunities for the business.

7. Public speaking and meeting facilitation experience.

8. Willingness and ability to travel.

9. Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, Oracle-based applications, etc.

10. Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Advanced degree, e.g., Master’s degree in the related field.
