职位描述：
The Associate Buyer is responsible for procuring high quality furniture items for Cortland Partners’ global operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in procuring a variety of furniture products and is comfortable working in an environment where day to day decisions are their own responsibility. Moreover, the candidate must have excellent time management skills and is capable of prioritizing tasks when time is limited. This role requires weekly conference calls with associates located in our United States headquarters.

Market Research
1. Product research – includes determining any required government certifications, minimum required specifications, materials used, quality, and understanding the furniture styles of multiple regions in the United States and the United Kingdom
2. Perform market analysis, competitive shop and analyze sales to keep abreast of emerging trends and designers

Procurement
1. Search for qualified vendors that align with the Design team’s sourcing direction
2. Initiate contact and assess their capabilities with defined data points
3. Vendor due diligence through factory visits
4. Pricing negotiations

Execution
1. Manage ongoing relationships with vendors, including but not limited to: new product additions, drop ship & inventory troubleshooting, and identifying Brand Level opportunities (collaborations, catalog & social placement)
2. Provide the Purchasing team with relevant product data – including specifications, price, production time, certifications, etc.
3. Coordinate with Cortland’s Product Rendering Specialist to create accurate and realistic furniture renders and Revit files
4. Work with our Quality Assurance team to ensure procured furniture items match Cortland’s strict quality guidelines; and to resolve any existing defects

Required Skills
1. English and Chinese fluency
2. A technical understanding of various furniture components and specifications
