Our Shanghai office, is one of the sourcing offices for the Far East region.

We are now looking for a high caliber candidate to join us as:

Key responsibilities:

- Lead a team to achieve annual business targets

- Assist Category Manager to achieve the business target and margins by establishing Product & Sourcing strategies and identifying appropriate suppliers. Negotiate commercial terms (including pricing) on behalf of the Buying teams

- Maintain a fashion awareness particularly of UK trends and directions within Debenhams. Proactively communicate with UK relevant market intelligence from factories, trade show and regular head office visit for new Tech Pack briefing

- Develop a good understanding of suppliers and regional mill capability (price/lead-times/product range) and manage the product offering from the Region

- Work with CSR/Technical teams to ensure the Product Offer is backed-up by compliance and quality

- Ensure fast development samples turn-around and accuracy of price quotes

- Ensures that Product Development teams and Technical team are working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize the critical path from product brief to order confirmation

- Oversee new supplier Induction & training

- Oversee and conduct as needed, high visibility and complex competitive negotiation processes

- Conduct capacity booking and monitoring on a regular basis

- Ensure fabric is up to standard and make sure they have gone through proper testing in conjunction with Fabric Technologist

- Review and evaluate vendor performance

Requirements:

- Bachelor degree holder in any discipline

- Over 8 years related merchandising experience, preferably having worked in a buying office

- Fluent in English and Mandarin

- Good computer knowledge

- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

- Detail-oriented, responsible, self-motivated, independent and able to deal with multi-tasks under pressure and tight timeline
