Manager, Accounting

As an Accounting Manager in Elsevier GC, you will be;
? Responsible for general accounting and monthly close processes for the China legal entities under control of Elsevier Global Finance Services (EGFS), at high standard and according to agreed timelines. Assist in coordinating resolution of accounting issues and insure compliance with IFRS..
? Responsible for the supervision and administration of the Statutory, Tax & Legal compliance of legal entities in China are properly adhered in accordance to the local regulations

Key responsibilities include;
? Business Performance
o Strive to improve efficiency in accounting processes, in particular in areasa of tax, statutory and legal compliance.

? Business Operations
o Manage and be responsible for the P2R and R2R processes.
o Maintain strong internal controls by having a full understanding of end to end process, and ensure that group's policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
o In addition, ensure compliance and alignment across companies and business units, that are to simplify, streamlined and standardised the end to end processes.
o Review account reconciliations and follow up to ensure reconciling items are cleared on a timely basis
o Ensure that books are closed on time, and group reportings are also done on time and accurately
o Responsible for tax compliance matters, direct and indirect tax filings, including tax queries, tax audits
o Responsible for internal and external audits. Prepare documentation and worksheets as requested; ensure that delivery of timely submission of statutory audit financial statements
o Manage auditors, tax consultants, business partners, stakeholders, to ensure the statutory audit and tax compliance are on time
o Advise on the impact of new tax law changes on the Company’s operations and also the changes in China GAAP on the statutory reporting requirements, and recommend solutions to processes to better capture the required output.
o Serve as process owner for ICQSB templates related to assigned set of books and ensure walkthroughs are current and resolve all gaps in a timely manner.

? Relationship Management
o Work closely Business Controllers, other divisions' finance team, business units heads. Overall responsibility for resolution of audit, and tax queries on a timely basis. Play a pro-active role in building partnership with the stakeholders, and across divisions, to integrate new business initiatives, new products and acquisitions in the general accounting processes.
o Work closely with the other Global Financial Services team members to achieve Finance Effectiveness.
 
? People Management
o Create an environment where skilled people are motivated and committed to the achievement. Ensure that team members perform against finance objectives. Act as a people manager; coaching and motivating own staff as well as participators to projects etc.
o Monitor execution and results, taking all necessary measures. Appraise staff results, select staff and stimulate career development. Optimise Finance team performance through stretching goals and direction. Motivate through high quality performance management including 1:1 coaching.

To be successful, you’ll bring with you;
? Minimum of Bachelor degree in accounting with more than 5 years of experience. CPA desired.
? Experience with working in a global company. High level of knowledge of IFRS and local accounting principles, tax and finance systems
? Knowledge of corporate policies and sound business practices. Proficient with PC desktop applications, Word, Excel, Outlook.
? Experience with major enterprise accounting systems such as Oracle, SAP or PeopleSoft. 举报 分享
