About the role

The Internet of Things is driving the requirement for a disruptive change in the way embedded devices are created and deployed. Our mission is to build a modern full stack open-source OS and tools focused on developer productivity, low power, IP communication and security that can be used by 100,000s of developers creating connected IoT devices.

We are looking for a talented engineer who is partner-focused and shares our vision of the future who can work in conjunction with the rest of our engineering team and partner ecosystem, to help our developer community be successful.

This is a great opportunity for an embedded-systems applications engineer who has been working with customers providing technical support and would like to take the next step into developing partner relationships.

This role adds additional capabilities to a respected team of engineers, who have exposure to the leading companies in the embedded systems industry. You will gain familiarity with emerging embedded systems technologies such as new microcontroller architectures, Internet of Things technologies such as mesh networking and machine-to-machine communication protocols, as well as software development methodologies and continuous improvement testing workflows.
 
What will I be accountable for?

Your will primarily work with our partners to help them bring their technology, products and services to the ARM mbed ecosystem, which in turn enables thousands of developers who are using the ARM mbed ecosystem to build the next generation of connected devices and web services, enabling them to be successful.

Your responsibilities will include:

Building technical relationships with partners, including running meetings, communicating roadmaps, and acting as their voice to the internal engineering teams
Proactively engaging with the other members of the worldwide Partner Enablement team to ensure information and knowledge is shared
Working with our Commercial Operations team to present new opportunities to our partners, and characterize new products and services we can offer our partners
When required, reacting to help partners solve technical issues, involving core engineering teams when necessary.
Generally, do everything you can to make sure partners get great results!

You may also get involved in:

Creating and delivering presentations that educate partners and developers about new technologies, techniques and tools

This position includes travel to support events, partner workshops, conferences and seminars.

What skills, experience, and qualifications do I need?

A minimum of 5 years of technology industry experience
Effective at communication between technical- and business-focused teams
Experience in software development for embedded systems
Able to coordinate effective and efficient projects and meetings
Ability to develop, deliver, and report on partner facing initiatives
Enjoyment in helping others be productive and successful in their work
Knowledge in ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and peripherals
Experience developing customer-facing demos, documentation, and/or training materials
Familiarity with embedded systems advanced topics such as multi-threading, bootloaders, power management, networking, and encryption
Bachelors (BS) or Masters (MS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering - although other degrees will be considered with relevant work experience
Excellent English and Chinese language skills – ability to easily converse at a deep technical level in both English and Chinese
