Senior Applications Engineer - Automotive

Provide technical support to the sales channel and end users through application pre-sales support, benchmark production, sample design and delivery, product training, and new product support for Stratasys technologies. This position will be a primary responsible to drive application channel readiness, development, deployment, and support for both existing as well as new products. The applications team is also responsible for improving/maintaining end user satisfaction, supporting and enabling resellers and strategic partners, and working internally across numerous departments and disciplines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

Application Pre-Sales Support

• Provide technical support, especially focused on advanced applications, to accelerate and increase system sales.
• Execute essential mentorship, support and guidance to ensure Stratasys sub-regional and reseller self-sufficiency.
• Deliver comprehensive demonstrations onsite at reseller and customer sites.
• Produce quality benchmarks and samples for Sales/Marketing and Partners per deadlines.
• Conduct initial and on-going training of reseller partners and strategic customers.

Applications Regional Support

• Work with marketing and sub-regions to maintain support FDM/PolyJet systems, materials, and applications.
• Deliver training to ensure consistency and enhance ability for sub-regional & regional teams to optimize part quality.
• Maintain demo center printers to ensure they kept running smoothly and producing the highest quality models.
• Provide critical support to the Marketing team for Trade Shows,and samples.
• Provide assistance in regional beta testing of new hardware and software products.

Applications Deployment (Applications Training)

• Train regional teams on advanced applications such as injection molding, RTV molding, vacuum forming, etc….
• Provide periodic technical updates to best practices, processes
• Aid in the production and distribution of sample kits for the network of Stratasys partners in the region
• Drive application deployment (training) via effective and efficient conduits

Essential Education, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
• +3 years of experience in automotive R&D – ideally prototype vehicles department
• Experience with traditional manufacturing processes a must (injection molding, CNC machining, etc….)
• Skilled at project management – including meeting challenging deadlines with minimal resources
• Skilled and comfortable presenter in small, medium and large audience e***ironment
• Strong computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Experience in 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks) and prototyping a plus
• Knowledge of 3D Printing a plus
• Excellent problem solving skills & ability to work well with others.
• Less experienced candidate will be considered as Pre-Sales & Applications Engineer

Physical/E***ironmental Requirements:

• Works in pleasant office e***ironment with other department staff, utilizing a computer workstation and various applications.

• Travel requirement: up to 40%
