Purpose/Mission of the job

Design, develop, integrate and maintain automation control system dedicated for industrial operation in Asia.

Reports hierarchically to Regional Head of Engineering in Asia, and functionally to the Global Automation Director.

Job Responsibility

? Support the Shanghai greenfield site project IS & Automation stream to implement SAP/MES/Automation of the new plant
? Lead the engineering of control system architecture design, and the implementation, as required by the project assignment in conjunction with IT service.
? Prepare all specifications related to electrical and automation for outsourced project to engineering company. Coordinate and direct outside contractors and vendors as required.
? Prepare project cost estimates and maintain project schedules once project approved
? Assist in the design and implementation of process control strategy and instrumentation, including the preparation of P&IDs in conjunction with process, production engineers and project engineers
? Participate in the commissioning and startup of control systems portions of projects in collaboration with the project management, process engineering, production services (QI, QO, QP)
? Provide automation support to process engineering, production and mainte***ce operations.
? Participate as required in hazard evaluation (risk analyses) reviews on modifications of existing equipment and new process project
? Take in charge process automation engineering for all new product introductions in the plant on existing equipment
? On small project, take directly in charge all the steps from specification to commissioning including software development on existing DCS, SCADA and/or PLC’s.
? Analyze the root causes of recurring technical issues and recommends appropriate, permanent solutions
? Provide input into the evaluation of new equipment capable of providing improved operation efficiency and improved reliability.
? Provide regular feedback to Managers in all critical areas such as process safety, regulatory compliance status and plant systems upgrade
? Participate to develop standard


Profile

? Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Automation/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
? Minimum ten (10) years’ process control experience in Chemical Process, preferably in the fine chemical or pharmaceutical industry with batch processes
? Ares of expertise required :
o Process control (Provox, DeltaV, advanced control, loop tuning, configuration of fieldbuses, PLC hardware and configuration, HMI configuration, principles of safe automation, programming languages,…)
o Instrumentation and valves
o Basic electrical and electronic principles
o Computer (hardware, operating systems, applications, network principles & protocols, Databases, programming languages,…)
o Buses (Principles, configuration, integration,…)
o Data historian (PI, logMate,…)
o Data collection and advanced analytics
o Industrial IT network architecture integration for control system, including Ethernet TCP/IP protocol and fieldbuses integration in overall architecture
o MES (Principles, integration, business and engineering needs of process data,…)
o Project management (GAMP methodology; URS, FDS, FAT, SAT,….)
o Standards (S5.1, S84, S88, S95, S99, GAMP, NFPA, NEMA,…)
? Ability to perform with minimal supervision and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team e***ironment
? Ability to manage and follow up external contractor on deliverables and planning
? Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Excel, and an aptitude to learn computer applications software for process control system
