Job Summary
 
The growth of Model-Based Design (MBD) and automatic code generation has created demand for support of complex production deployments of Simulink, Embedded Coder or HDL coder, and other tools.

This position requires a unique combination of leadership and management skills involving the local sales and engineering team and the global technical, development and marketing teams to maximize the effectiveness of the team and evolve the way we are working with customers. The candidate will manage a team of pilot engineers who support major corporate customers in the application of MathWorks products for Model-Based Design. The support will involve recommending technical approaches using the existing products, providing customized solutions for advanced applications and collecting requirements. The successful candidate will help secure strategic accounts and ensure the successful execution of the pilot projects leveraging his/her industry experience and technical expertise.


This position will be part of a large international pilot support team which operates within a common charter and process.

This role is a full-time leadership management position based in Beijing, China.
 
Responsibilities
?Manage the team and contribute at the individual, functional, office and organizational levels.
?Manage resource assignment to balance today’s and future business needs.
?Orchestrate and provide direction to strategic customer projects.
?Recruit future pilot engineers and ensure efficient ramp-up and integration of new staff.
?Secure new pilot projects per an established process and tight collaboration with sales teams and ensure pilot team works within existing pilot engineering process and procedures
?Ensure there is a strong engineering focus to drive success of Model-Based Design and code generation projects in China
?Generate excitement, confidence and passion for usage of Model-Based Design and Embedded Coder or HDL Coder in complex production deployments
?Work directly with select customers to establish project road maps for Model-Based Design and Code generation deployments
?Work with development engineers to implement required features or determine how to use existing features most effectively
?Work closely with sales teams and other customer facing staff focused on a fast paced and continually evolving strategy for successful adoption of tools for deployments
?Be a proactive and member of the local and pilot organization management teams
 
Minimum Qualifications
?A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience is required. 2 years management experience is required.

Additional Qualifications
?MS or Ph.D in Engineering or Computer Science
?3 or more years people management experience
?Experience with using Simulink for controls, signal processing or software development
?Working knowledge of development processes and or Model-Based Design as a methodology for applications of Embedded Systems, Signal processing, VHDL and FPGA Design, or Advanced simulation methods
?Customer facing work experience, working in a sales and marketing organization.
?Highly motivated towards working directly with customers, showing strong business acumen.
?Flexibility to work on multiple projects with ability to multi-task based upon frequently changing business opportunities and external demands
?Excellent verbal and written communication skills
