Job Responsibilities:

This position will offer the opportunity to utilize and expand your background with Instrumentation and Control. You will work on a cross functional project team and be involved in the design, fabrication and engineering of equipment. Your responsibilities will include:

· Develop the I&C design specifications and standards strategy for the project combining Chinese codal requirements with INVSITA best practice

· Understand root causes of reliability issues with existing equipment and incorporate this knowledge into the project designs to avoid repeat failures

· Provide technical expertise to specify, purchase, and install equipment to meet long term equipment reliability objectives and ensure lowest life cycle cost

· Provide engineering oversight to the quality and productivity of work performed by contract resources.

· Provide equipment management strategies and critical spare parts as part of project deliverables.

· Review vendor offerings (drawings, specifications) for equipment to ensure compliance to appropriate codes and company requirements.

· Establish appropriate strategies for vendor qualification and appropriate quality control for equipment purchases.

· Support early design activities with identification and application / selection of appropriate equipment technologies.

· Set expectations and oversee construction quality for the installation of new equipment

· Ensure accurate consistent calibration of equipment prior to startup

· Set expectations for functional testing of control and Safety Instrumented Systems prior to start up

· Provide guidance to the project team to ensure all appropriate documentation is transferred to the operations team in a clear organized manner which supports the long term maintenance and management of the equipment.


Experience and Skills Required:

? Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering

? 8+ years experience within the I&C discipline directing the specification, design, fabrication, erection and maintenance of equipment in the chemical, petrochemical or refining industry.

? Experience and knowledge of applicable industry standards (Chinese and International)

Experience and Skills Preferred:

? 12+ years capital projects experience with a corporation or owner company

? Should have knowledge in specification, selection, design, operation, troubleshooting, repair and proactive management of: DCS (including alarm management and data historian), flow, pressure, temperature measurement, vibration and machine monitoring, analysers (gas and liquid).

? Experience with all aspects of the lifecycle associated with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
