Job Responsibilities:
This position will offer the opportunity to utilize and expand your background in Chemical Engineering. Your responsibilities will include:
? Develop process design for selected scope through the Basic Design Phase (FEL 3). Includes preparation of process datasheets, development of P&IDS, line lists, attendance at hazard studies and development of overpressure protection designs.
? Run steady state (Aspen) simulations to characterize processes for equipment design.
? Use of tools such as HTRI, FATHOM, ARROW software etc for equipment design
? Work with operators and site engineering staff at one of our Gulf Coast sites (Orange, TX or Victoria, TX) for 2-4 weeks, possibly longer depending on the project phase.
? Provide technical oversight during the detailed design phase to ensure design intent is maintained through to construction.
? Provide technical support to commissioning team during startup
? Train future operations team on selected aspects of the process, assist in the development of operating instructions in preparation for start up.
? Punchlisting of selected scope during construction phase and support of team to validate day one readiness of the facility for startup
? Ongoing technical support of the operating facility to meet Safety, Health and production targets.
Experience and Skills Required:
? Demonstrated leadership, planning and organizational, problem solving, decision making, and critical decision making skills are required. Ability to apply persuasion and influence to create positive change in supporting departments without direct authority.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
? Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from a university with an accredited engineering program
? Major GPA 3.0 (or equivalent) or greater.
? 3+ years experience as a process engineer in the chemical or refining business working in design or operations.
? Proficiency in Mandarin and English, both written and verbal. Applicants will be required to demonstrate proficiency during the selection process.
? Ability to relocate to the US for at least one year
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
? Experience with ASPEN Plus process modeling.
? Direct experience in design on large capital projects (>$100MM)
? Familiarity with compressible/incompressible fluid flow software.
? 5+ years experience working in the chemical/petrochemical/refining industries in a design or plant based capacity
? Start Up or commissioning experience
