Job Responsibilities:
This position will offer the opportunity to utilize and expand your background in Mechanical Engineering. You will work on a cross functional project team and be involved in the design, fabrication and engineering of mechanical rotating equipment (high pressure centrifugal and reciprocal pumps, etc) . Your responsibilities will include:
? Development of the mechanical design specifications and standards strategy for the project combining Chinese codal requirements with company best practices.
? Support early design activities with identification and application / selection of appropriate and justifiable equipment technologies
? Provide technical expertise to specify, purchase, and install equipment to meet long term equipment reliability objectives and ensure lowest total life cycle cost
? Establish appropriate strategies for vendor qualification and appropriate quality control for equipment purchases from a Total Life Cycle Cost perspective.
? Provide engineering oversight to ensure that contract design activities meet COMPANY expectations for compliance, Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), quality control and work productivity.
? Provide and support equipment management strategies and critical spare parts inventory strategies as part of project deliverables, focused on meeting or exceeding overall plant availability target.
? Review vendor offerings (drawings, specifications) for equipment to ensure compliance to specifications and work with 3rd parties to select optimal engineering solutions.
? Teaming with Operations personnel in the development of operating and maintenance procedures that will improve and sustain breakthroughs in: Reliability, EH&S, and Productivity
? Provision of training on the equipment, maintenance and operating procedures

Experience and Skills Required:

? Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
? 8+ years experience within the Rotating and Fixed Equipment discipline directing the specification, design, fabrication, erection and maintenance of equipment in the chemical, petrochemical or refining industry.
? Experience and knowledge of applicable industry standards including GB (Chinese), ANSI, ASME, API, and PIP
? Experience with machinery surveillance and condition monitoring including: vibration analysis, oil analysis, etc.
? Knowledge in the specification, selection and design of: compressors (centrifugal, reciprocating), pumps (centrifugal and positive displacement), vacuum pumps, agitators/mixers, seals, lubrication systems, and vibration analysis.
? General familiarity with motors, gearboxes, fasteners, bearings, lubrication, piping, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Experience and Skills Preferred:
? 12+ years capital projects experience with a corporation or owner company
? Leadership position within the mechanical discipline on a large (>US$100MM) project.

? Teaming with Operations personnel in the development of operating and maintenance procedures that will improve and sustain breakthroughs in: Reliability, EH&S, and Productivity
? Provision of training on the equipment, maintenance and operating procedures
? Develop the Precision Checkout / Approval sheets to verify high quality installation and oversight for construction of new equipment
Experience and Skills Required:
? Demonstrated leadership, planning and organizational, problem solving, decision making, and critical decision making skills are required. Ability to apply persuasion and influence to create positive change in supporting departments without direct authority.
? Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
? 8+ years experience within the Rotating and Fixed Equipment discipline directing the specification, design, fabrication, erection and maintenance of equipment in the chemical, petrochemical or refining industry.
? Experience and knowledge of applicable industry standards including GB (Chinese), ANSI, ASME, API, and PIP
? Experience with machinery surveillance and condition monitoring including: vibration analysis, oil analysis, etc.
? Knowledge in the specification, selection and design of: compressors (centrifugal, reciprocating), pumps (centrifugal and positive displacement), vacuum pumps, agitators/mixers, seals, lubrication systems, and vibration analysis.
? General familiarity with motors, gearboxes, fasteners, bearings, lubrication, piping, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Experience and Skills Preferred:
? 12+ years capital projects experience with a corporation or owner company
? Leadership position within the mechanical discipline on a large (>US$100MM) project.
? Experience in the specification, design, fabrication, erection and maintenance of high pressure (approx 5000PSI or greater) positive displacement equipment for gases and liquids in the chemical, petrochemical or refining industry
? Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and its application to rotating equipment.
? Experience with the operation, troubleshooting, repair and proactive management of rotating equipment, specifically:
-Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using fault trees, fishbone diagrams, or other structured problem solving techniques and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), as part of the continuous improvement process for existing equipment, as well as incorporating the improvements into capital project designs to eliminate repeat failures.
-Facilitation of RCM and successful execution and follow up on the deliverables such as: precision check out points, design changes, corrective actions, equipment strategies, troubleshooting guides, etc.
? Strong analytical and field troubleshooting skills, especially with rotating equipment that is not meeting design function parameters.
? Committed to and encourages others to use Documentation Systems such as SAP PM, etc
? Start Up/Commissioning experience to include:
-Verification and documentation of the operational frequencies of large rotating equipment (gear mesh, vane pass, etc ) against the natural frequencies of structural assets (piping, structural steel, etc.)
-Familiarity with precision balancing, laser alignment, oil analysis, vibration analysis, infrared thermography and precision installation of rotating equipment.
