Responsible:
- Ensure merchandising team achieve objectives as related to cost, delivery and quality
- Develop on overall strategy for preferred mill relationship, capabilities and pricing
- Ensure all categories have well documented fabric and mill strategies aligned
- Develop an integrated fabric development process with categories which included development of a fabric library
- Work with mill and vendor management teams and internal and external customers to ensure meeting platform
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure development of effective relationships with mills
- Establish mill matrix, supervise regional fabric team to carry out mill evaluations
- Work to enable increased collaboration between fabric R&D, mills and designers
- Review high risk styles and highlight technical issues
- Ensure mills achieve agreed color and shade continuity in bulk
- Investigate fabric production problems
- Research innovations in fabrics and yarns
- Develop innovative fabric/yarn/finishing solutions
- Lead efforts in fabric/yarn development including the development/maintenance of the fabric library
- Manage and plan resources to achieve goals and support ad-hoc initatives
- Train and develop fabric supplier; investigate into new techniques and technology to achieve category requirements
Requirements:
- Degree or Master in Textile Technology or related subjects
- 15-20 years experience in underwear and sportswear fabric sourcing, R&D and development
- Experience dealing will mills in Asia
- Strong fabric development expertise across the designated categories
- Ability to manage, motivate and develop the team
- Strong leadership and good communication skills
- EXCELLENT IN ENGLISH (written, verbal and presentation
