The Shanghai office has been our company's fastest growing office in the past 2 years, with rapid growth expected to continue over the coming years. A large number of Shanghai team members are and will be working on continuous market monitoring services, to clients of other GIA offices as well as services to local Shanghai office clients.
The team leader position has emerged from the fast growth of the team. We are looking for an experienced professional in market monitoring services to help oversee and supervise the continuous services delivery in Shanghai.
The focus of the new role is to lead a team of analysts working mainly on continuous services.


Responsibilities:
? Lead a team of 5-12 (and eventually a team of 20+) analysts to deliver high quality market monitoring services to GIA clients. Guide the team as a whole and its individual members to achieve high performance and professional development, foster an atmosphere of motivation, job satisfaction, team work, high quality orientation and continuous learning in line with GIA values
? Staffing team members on continuous services and coordination with other IS Units in terms of cross unit resourcing
? Leading the professional development of each member in the team (setting BSC targets, reviewing performance, discussing personal development plans and other tasks required of a supervisor)
? Participate in the process of new recruitments to Shanghai office to further grow the team
? Ultimately responsible for the uninterrupted delivery of market monitoring services to clients (internal and external)
? As a unit leader, contribute to company planning, budgeting and performance management by systematic reporting and participating in budgeting and planning processes to the extent requested


Qualifications:
? Team leadership skills
o Demonstrated readiness to work in the role of a team leader with abilities such as listening to team members, understanding others interests and sources of motivation, providing direction, setting targets, reviewing performance and giving feedback
o Interpersonal skills to manage team challenges, e.g. support team members in case of personal challenges and resolve conflicts

? Managerial skills
o Ability to plan and organize
o Proven track record of effectively managing a team of at least 7 to 10 persons in a project management or supervisory capacity.
o Proven ability to manage a portfolio of urgent tasks and projects and prioritize
o Track record of operational excellence, setting an example in following procedures and company policies

? General knowledge & know-how:
o Good knowledge of Market Intelligence and specifically of continuous market monitoring services
o Proven secondary research skills
o Excellent writing skills
o Fluency in Chinese would be an asset
